I plan on doing a full grow (from seed to harvest) with intentions of helping the newer growers out. This will include step by step procedures, updates with photos and just about anything you can think of in-between. With the intentions of helping on learning to grow, I also plan on keeping this particular run on a budget as well. Below I will list every single thing being used and where you can find it. Now...please note this isn't for having the best lights, tents or even genetics. This is ONLY for achieving a decent final harvest while NOT breaking the bank.
Now that I have the basis of this journal out, please let me go ahead and say if you have any questions or concerns, VOICE them to me. I already have a perpetual grow going but since I have found my mothers and such, I plan on lowering my plant count and running the mothers for a while. That journal can be found in my signature below. Since this grow is starting from scratch, let's get right into it.
Lighting is IMO one of the hardest things to understand growing. Since there's so many companies in the market, you really need to know what to look for and what to avoid all together. The problem is, they are basically allowed to false advertise and to the newer grower a " 4000w LED Grow Light " for well under $100 looks like a steal. Guess again because the only stealing is the company stealing your money. This is for entire new thread though.
Lighting, Tent & Nutrients: I am keeping this grow on the smaller size so I won't need too much to achieve what I want. Good smoke, grown by myself at the cheapest cost as possible.
The light I will be using for this grow will be a Mars-Hydro TS-1000. The light can be found on Amazon, Ebay or directly on their website. I would suggest using the direct site as I am not sure Amazon will cover the 3 year warranty that Mars provides with their products. It's not the "best" light on the market, however, it will be more then enough for this grow. Price is around the $125 range give or take a few dollars.
I will be using a 32in x 32in tent that I found on E-Bay for about $50 USD. I will be able to fit 2 nice sized plants in this area or 4 with proper training. I am choosing to do 4 plants in the 32in x 32in tent. Training steps will be provided step by step once we get to this area.
Since it's a smaller tent & light, I don't need to much of an exhaust fan to move the air around. I will be using a 6 in Ipower inline fan with ducting that can also be found on Amazon or Ebay. Total cost...roughly $30 for both the fan and ducting. I also want to use another fan on the inside the tent as well. Clip fans are a dime a dozen just about at any store. Add an additional $15.
The medium and nutrients I will be using are as follows: Roots Organic Soil 1.5 cubic ft bags and Fox Farms trio of nutrients along with General Hydroponic's brand of cal-mag. I have found Roots Organic to be a little better then Fox Farms Ocean Forest soil. The R.O soil is roughly $15 per bag cheaper ( at least for me ). Total cost for all 3 items range around $60.
Stay tuned....more to come.
