Does anyone have a good way to clean a bong?

Salt water just isn’t cutting it anymore. Since it has 2 percolators I don’t know the best way to go about cleaning it. Should I get plugs for both sides and some sort of 420 solution? Or is there a better way to do this at home with household items?5D357340-F79D-4EF2-A033-E065EFBBB9E8.jpeg

Get yourself an ashcatcher. It will change your life. You'll have to clean your rig way less

Easy-Off oven cleaner (yellow can) diluted with denatured or isopropyl alcohol.
I'm working at a house where the homeowner's had a professional cleaning company come in and do some work. Dude that worked for them used oven cleaner on a plastic/acrylic shower surround to clean oil base paint and years of grime off. After he cleaned everything off he sprayed it all down with windex. It looked brand new when he was done.

I murdered a U.S. Bong about 45 years ago when I hit it with 70% isopropyl. It actually emitted a scream as the plastic developed a million tiny cracks.

Be careful around some plastics with solvents.

I think its adorable when the guy at the head shop tries to sells me bong cleaner. He knows damn good and well its rubbing alcohol and salt. Maybe a rinse with mouth wash then more water.

I have a silicone bubbler and its the nastiest thing. No matter how well you clean it. You can smell it from 5 feet off. Plus the silicone will stain. It never comes truly clean. Its a pos.

Acrylic that has been heated does this when hit with alcohol. Don't believe me? Take some acrylic and hit it with a torch and use isopropyl alcohol on it.

While hot, or days afterward? The bong never got too hot to touch iirc.
Hit it with a torch to what temp? I imagine you don’t want it to look like it saw flame.

I side with people saying alcohol and salt. It's the best thing I've found. Run some hot water through it first and follow up with some alcohol and salt, shake that through. This is pretty much all I use on my glass these days. I hit what I can with a scrubber to speed up the process.

I'm suggesting the bong was heat treated before you got it. Heat treated acrylic has a polished look. Also good rule of thumb is don't us alcohol on acrylic. I didn't mean while heated, just don't use alcohol.

I kept extract in silicone once. The extract hardened in a way that didn’t happen to me in glass (in under 10 years; I had a 10yo sample turn the upper half to hard varnish).
The container swelled up and would not close.
Silicone and cannabinoids don’t mix at all well.

Ok thanks. I didn’t know that.

I'm using a 'Heavy' right now.

My favorite glass bong. An expensive bong. Scientific glass. Was destroyed. I had it for two years. One day, I set on the kitchen counter.

Bumped it with my elbow. It hit the floor and exploded. It even broke the stem off the bowl. There wasn't a piece bigger then a quarter. Felt like digging a hole and laying the chunks to rest.

Damn that's even more sad than my saddest story.
The first time I ever bought an expensive piece of glass I put ice cold water in it the first week I had it and somehow this broke the percolator inside of it. Wtf?? Popped clean off the fixture and just rattled around in the piece.

Mine had a hair line crack where the bowl tube attached to the main body. It was like that for a year. Never leaked or got bigger. Until I dropped it. The crack happened when in tipped over on a marble table. I was super careful after that... Until the drop. I think I paid $130 for it.
