Spider mites at harvest

Ugh!
I’ve been battling with these mites This entire grow and recently had a baby so naturally I haven’t been as attentive with this grow as I usually am.

any tips to remove the webbing and bugs that have taken up shop on my buds? Also will the bud be okay to smoke?

I wouldn't do anything but harvest it, dry it and smoke it. It looks close.
You could vacuum if you want I wouldn't think it would hurt.
Your Father in law probly smoked a ton of bugs on all that Mex we used to get.

A knock off swiffer duster. The dry kind for the webs. No scents or chemicals. A good stiff spraying down in the bath tub with room temp water. Avoid anything over 120F. And even cold to the touch. Heat softens the heads and cold makes the stems brittle below the heads. Should be considered when dealing with late stage flowers. Best of luck.

Spinosad next year and diatomaceous earth are suggested.

Haha yes I’m sure he has! What do I do to get rid of the bugs that are in my tent and house?? I wasn’t aware of these until today so I’m not sure how bad of a problem I have.

You can get a ozone generator and wipe them out but the level of ozone needed will most likely also hurt the plant.

would the DE damage or be harmful to smoke if sprinkled on the bud at this point?

I’m usually on top of prevention, I have a hot shot strip hanging but it must have lost its potency.

I would wash the buds as I stated to remove the DE as you say. Only real threats are respiratory and eyes due to abrasion factors. Baby in home? Use DE behind closed doors to prevent air transmission. Baby before fun. It is highly effective and edible. Tasted plenty. Never burned though. Wear safety glasses and dust mask at minimum.

You will have carcasses in your buds if you do not remove as many as possible before the DE. Also the duster picks most up with the webs. My lemon trees are under constant attack outdoors here. Mites are one the easier pests to eliminate.

Don't use DE now. I sure as hell wouldn't smoke that shit.

And most of those pest strips release toxic shit that can contaminate your buds.

Reduce your fan speed... add 5 of these... for a week.... gone!.... I then out them in a sealed bag... you don't want them around for long... jot great for humans either.

i had one of these in the tent but it was mentioned earlier these contaminate buds??
