Burnt LED Diodes

Anyone have any problems with burnt diodes on their LED boards? I've got 7 of the 3000K ones gone on my fusion board. It's not old; bought it last spring. It sat unused in my spare room for the last 2 months. I used it for a veg light at 150 watts. I put it up in my grow this week for some side lighting and noticed the burnt diodes when I hung it sideways. I'm not sure if they went when I plugged it in or if they were gone for a while and I didn't notice because the boards were horizontal. Either way it sucks! I'm kind of in the market for some more LEDs and I was thinking of the Cree boards but now I'm not sure.
Is there any repair or is that stupid? I emailed the place I bought them from and they said for 7 diodes it's not worth replacing the board.
I'm pretty sure my power is good. I have a Kill-A-Watt and it shows 124 volts at the plug. I'm not near my amperage capacity on any circuit in my room either.

Here's a few pics of the board. Samsung LM301H with meanwell driver. It's only the whites that are out; the UV and IR don't light up at low wattages.

Yep that happens to even the most expensive units. The burnt out ones have probably never run at 100% from new

Looks like the copper under some of those diodes may be cooked as well. It's probably not worth the time to try and repair them.

i had burned diodes on a bunch of KB 288 301b led boards.
repaired some in the kitchen oven, its no joy and at the prices these led boards are sold nowadays i would simply buy a bare populated pcb in china and replace the whole board or go with another light.
i am still scratching my head what was the cause (driven them very low), i suspect mechanical stress in your case.
you have 4 zones with borken leds, all these are the farest away from the screws.
maybe screws are too tight, board wasnt flat, constant heating and cooling down caused further stress = broken leds.
what i do remeber is that in my case i had more broken leds on low wattages showing up, going higher with the watts made some work again.

I'm pretty sure I can get it replaced where I bought it. They already replaced a 240 watt driver for me. It's just not really worth it to push it for the 7 white diodes; I think anyway. But I'll think about calling HLG; always good to have another source for spares.

Well I can't really disagree with you. Lost a 240 watt meanwell driver ;this board is burning up, the intensity isn't there like it was with HPS lighting either. I'm running two 600 HPS lights with 1000 watts of LEDs right now. Did a grow under 1250 watts of LEDs alone and only the sour diesel did well. I'm pretty sure the intensity wasn't enough for the other varieties. Nice power bills with the LEDs and just dynamite side lights; but I'm not sold 100% yet.

Thanks for the input. Nice to know there is at least some repairs that can be done to them. If I get a new board wouldn't it be smart to save the old one for parts? Maybe I can practice on it...

It was definitely run at low wattage for veg. Thanks for the info.

I'm pretty sure I could get more aggressive and get it fixed under warranty; they already replaced a 240 watt Meanwell driver, just not sure if it's worth it for 7 diodes. The specs are still good; 123volts and 240watts at the plug. When the driver went it was pulling 500 watts; not 240, so there doesn't appear to be any big issues with it other than 7 diodes.

Clearly states 1 year warranty on the site, I have bought stuff from there before, good to know they won’t honour the warranty, will avoid now. I think they assemble fixtures and name them fusion, out of eastern Canada.

Hard to say. I just replaced my 1000watt MH/HPS with a 600 watt HLG and for the first time I have had to use grow room glasses. A problem I never had before. Mind you it's a 600 watt and not a 240 so that would make a big difference. I am defiantly sold and likely won't go back to bulbs but there is no denying that HPS will grow great plants and has been for decades.

They are out of Ontario. I don't doubt they assemble their own boards either. Here's a copy of a recant email
"Honestly, we have been selling these for about a year and a half right now and we only ever had 1 driver fail but never heard of anyone having any of the LEDs burn out or stop working like that, in over a thousand boards sold. It is by far our best LED product."
