Can my girls herm if I defoliate too much in veg?

Iv only defoliated my girls two times out of a month and 7days in veg, bout two weeks apart. Wasn’t heavy jus removing fan leaves and little branches at the very bottom. The plants look very healthy and wanna do a lite strip one more time before flip. Or should I wait day 17-19 flower to strip?

I defoliate my SCROG heavier than you and I've never had a hermie from it. That's not to say that a plant won't do it; they're all a little different even in the strain. I stripped just before I flipped and I'm still doing it now at day 12 or so. But way less; just taking the ones up top that block light. There's no reason you can't do both defoliations in my opinion.

17 , only removing bottom fan leafs and small branches

No science. But I am a butcher when it comes to defol. Never a herm as a result. Can't see a sane individual removing enough to induce the stress it would or should take.

Actually after strip mid flower. But get greedy on growth or plants? You must make up for by defoliation. Just a pic to give an example of my working method is all. And your suggested target. I support most methods. And the one that works for you.

All the panels actually still working to the positive are intact to above the required input. LOL.

I suggest some reading on the life cycle and function of a leaf. Neutral at best after mature. What I got from my reading. And working here.
