Yes sir but we feed the roots not the leaves - And silica is key ingredient 2 the microbiology.
easier to have a balanced level of silica in the medium rather than a possibly un even spraying on the leaves

I'm leaning towards the HP honestly, but these are mostly just contemplations. might just do 1 or 2 buckets of promix leave the hempys and do side by side, I was under the assumption they performed the same or similar, perhaps HP on top Nd perlite or leca in the rez. tysm this helps get the gears turning

My very first grow was with the Pro Mix HP and had a pretty good result for my first attempt. I would love to use it for all my grows but it can be expensive up here. I’ve been using their Pro Mix All Purpose for the past 3 or 4 grows indoors and have had some great success and some of my biggest tent yields with it. Also almost half the price of the HP mix, but will sometimes buy a small bag and mix it with the All Purpose. It ain’t a lot but it doesn’t hurt them either, but again, I would be just fine using nothing but the All Purpose if I had too

my home depot has 4cu ft of perlite for 32$ hard to beat that

but it's totally inert. and the mycos have me wondering. I mean I can "charge" my perlite with food but I have learned quite a bit about promix

If the mycos part is the determining factor, then we suggest amending DYNOMYCO into either of the soil mixes. Adding DYNOMYCO will significantly increase the propagule count of active mycorrhiza fungi to a level that will actually be able to effectively inoculate your plants' roots and ultimately increase plant yield, size, terpene, root development, and overall health. Unlike the mycorrhiza found in the soil mix which is of much lower concentration.

Ive been using the BX as long as its been around. Never used the HP, but would have no reservations about using it.

HP, or BX should both work great.

promix is nice its not too expensive if you can buy it locally without having to pay shipping i use the bx with the micro organisms. one bail will fill 12x 5 gallon pails

With Pro Mix I have always used the HP. I have had issues with the bales coming with aphids in them. Others have also reported this but some folks have no problems so I don't know if it's a storage issue somewhere along the line.

Another good peat based mix is the Sunshine 4, I have noticed it having high pH issues after they changed peat moss suppliers.

Berger BM6 is another good peat based mix but myself and others have had some issues with the pH crashing.

I recently switched from full FFOF to full PROMIX HP.

The HP does seem to be drying faster and that's what I wanted.

The HP medium seems more consistent then FFOF when inspected by touch.

As a 30+ year pro mix grower, I also add 2 cu. ft. more perlite and 1-2 cups of dolomitic lime to each 3.8 cu. ft bale. More perlite helps with compaction, which pro mix usually does late in flowering and the extra lime will help with pH late in flowering.

I'm on my 2nd grow with the same promix. Had to add dolomite and everything is great. Water or feed every 2nd/3rd day pretty much.

I've been noticing the compaction and acid issues @ 5 plus weeks into flower for the last 6 months or so. I've been watering untill runoff since I saw the issues and that almost completely fixed the acid issues but not the compaction. Thanks for this info about the lime and extra perlite. I may try this next batch

Amazon sells it too for around $100 a bale, delivered anywhere in the USA. I imagine the same for sunshine mix, cheaper in the west and more expensive in the east.

i live in the east, i pick these up for $56 canadian. are you just eye balling the lime i saw the 1-2 cups.

East Coast here in Nova-Scotia, Canada. A Bale of SS#4 here for 32.99 and can get Promix HP On sale often for 30$.
I've used Both, and success with both, using SS#4 for my Autopot grow.
