All my reading have said that hps is obsolete. And that leds are cheaper to run ,more effective, increased yields ect ect . But yet i see a lot of people on this page speak of hps being the best way to grow proper weed . Why ? Serious question.
maybe we don't know any better, i tried led when they were shitty tech so never looked back after switching to hps

Note my comment right under you.
Also some think the spectrum of HPS creates "danker" buds but there's really no science to that.
Full spectrum is the way to go

Its definitely an investment, but really does make sense when looking at the $$
Some people dislike LEDs and say they don't get as dense of buds, but usually I think thats because they don't do their research and buy a lousy board.
If you go LED its best to not skimp on the quality otherwise its a waste.
I almost wish I would have skipped on the sf4000 and bought something like a Geekbeast pro630 or the HLG Diablo scorpion.
They would have covered my 4x4 much better so I wouldn't have to smash in 3 more sf1000s to reach my PPFD spread im looking for
see that's good to know, I dont want to waste money on crap boards.
its like Alienware vrs chromebook

Don't get me wrong though on the Spiderfarmers, if I didn't have CO2 enrichment, the sf4000 would probably be more than enough for my 4x4.
With enrichment it just doesn't get those corners of the tent quite as high as I am looking for by itself though

I would make the switch if prices came down to a realistic number , 1200-2400 just seems to be far to much to spend upfront on decent builds for my 4x8
They were so much higher like 5 years ago hahah
Prices are coming down, and tech is getting better.
Probably 3 years ago LEDS really crossed that threshold from ineffective, to worth while. Since then, they have just been getting better

I was also living under a rock in a red state growing bag seed for a very long time
took time before I divulged into the forums out of paranoia. living in a legal state now I totally forget the problems I used to have. i don't sell so cost saving is really a fabrication since I prefer to figure the cost to produce my own and as long as it's cheaper then the street im super happy.

Trust me, that thing preforms though lol
Its one of the most effecient, strongest, best light spread LEDS on the market
You could flower in a 5x5 with that thing and get full PPFD spread across almost the whole thing.
I belive this map is without reflective walls

Currently in the process of researching DIY LED builds. I like to tinker and it’ll save me money, hoping I can build something that will flower a4x4 and than some
