Watching Republicans squirm over their having to choose between Trump and the our Democracy is something to behold.

Things they are saying:

"This would be very divisive"
"This will cause more violence"
"A censure would win bipartisan support so kowtow to me and Trump. Do the cowardly thing"
and finally,

"Its a witch hunt"

Republicans who want the backing of Trump's supporters will now put their name squarely in support of the sacking of our Capitol Building. It will be hanging over their head every time they face an election. Do it. Hang the sign of insurrection around their necks. To be sure, most will be safe the next time they are up for a vote but eventually, the stain on their reputation will come home to roost.

Edit: a few new ones from the impeachment proceedings:

"antifa did it" (yep Republican Representatives are saying that)
"bbbut we need to investigate"
"Impeaching Trump again sets a dangerous precedent"
"We have more important work to do"
"Democrats caused it because they hounded Trump at every step"
"Democrats supported violence in the summer" (a good example of grievance politics even if it's based on a lie)
"Democrats are doing this because they hate how Trump has made America Great Again" (I paraphrased)
"Trump could not be guilty of sedition because people built pipe bombs before Trump urged the crowd to sack the Capitol Building and overthrow our government."

I really can't stand listening to them, it is infuriating.

Them trying to pretend like they can just hear Trump say 'go peacefully protest' and ignore all the other things he said pointing them to doing exactly what they ended up doing.

It is so annoying how certain they are that their cult will stay willfully ignorant enough to think this meme actually means Trump would not want anything bad to happen. I absolutely hate how much they troll us citizens.

What a mouth breathing alternate reality troglodyte. Basically, Democrats are to blame for the sacking of our Capitol building. According to him, Trump has been abused and Democrats should be ashamed, not him.

Gaetz is an idiot. Made my adrenaline rise to levels haven't had since raiding terrorist hideouts in Iraq just hearing his insanely twisted rhetoric.

He's the rep from northern FL that organized a bunch of republicans to storm the room where closed door impeachment hearings were going on last time.
He's also the moron that showed up at the House with a gas mask to make light of the coronavirus.
He's also the first one to say Antifa did it.

Him and all the rest of these assholes need to go.
