I'm hoping someone might be able to help me out.


I haven't grown in 32 years.

I have been struggling with her to keep her balanced.

I tried a 2.5 gal pot to keep her manageable. She's thirsty. Twice daily.

I've been battling with heat and lights.

I have 3x bloom 200piece led. Samsung301b meanwhile driver 1000watt equivalents in the area for growing.

16 inches from canopy on her side.

Her leaf tips are ever so slowly browning. Backed off notes pretty good. Supplemented with white shark and flushed ph water 6.2.


Been doing that for a week.

Is it just me? Or do plants die close to flower these days.

I supp 1 time weekly with flower fuel and top dress with fresh living soil just a few spoonfuls weekly.

Her growth has been slow. But she's icing up.

This is so different from my time. I honestly don't know what I am doing.

She's a Gelato Autoflower. Figured she would be easy for my old ass. She's putting me to work. 18/6 light cycle. 7 weeks old.

Welcome back to the fun.

I would add 1 tbsp fish emulsion per gallon to your feed every third to fourth watering for a week or two. Use a foliar spray of 1 Tsp/qt once for two days to save the leaves that are draining. Won't fix them all. But you'll see improvements on the second day. Just mix your usual nutes or plain water. Then add fish. Feed plant. And lower your PH about 0.4.

What nutes and at what strength and interval are you using bud? I would raise her a bit of the floor. I think the best is to use something hollow to for raising and something in the bottom to collect runoff. I think she needs some veg nutes. The whole flower and veg nute deal is more a result of marketing than actual science.

You can use the same nutrient ratio from start to finish without problems, trowing out things like calcium in flower will only worsen the buffer capability of the soil. Especially peat has naturally low pH. In soil you want to use the same thing from start to finish just at different concentration/strength.

Creating circulation and optimal root temp is very important for rapid growth in soil and soil like mediums.

So,

I figured out what had been going on.... Unfortunetly she had to be harvested at 40 percent trichome maturity... There was a fungus gnat infestation so great that upon doing a 4 to 1 hydren bomb.... The roots literally exploded..... The hydroden lit up like an atomic bomb and blew soil out of the pot..

Funny part is, there was only usually a fly or two here and there, I sprayed hydrogen peroxide daily on the pot, soil and plant. She was happy until all of a sudden. I would also vaccuum any that I saw with a handheld vacuum and use bleach wipes to wipe everything down, the floor, walls, and outside of pots. Even flushed the pot with hp. Larvae out the wazoo... and they were resisting the hydrogen even at 2-1

I have never seen in my life a pot blow like a damn tea kettle... holy crap. At that point... She was harvested... wont be creme of the crop, but should be exciting to see what happens and how she turns out ...

Gelato auto and ww auto on the other side..... im thinking i may need to reevaluate all of this.

Gelato sounds really nice and of course never tried it, sounds yummy though.

Gelato is just about the quickest Auto you can get. Its also about the strongest on the market when you dont have fungus gnats...

Hydrogen bomb - 2 part hydrogen and 4 parts water- flush as fast as you can. I then go 1 part to 4 water to flush the dead larvae out. However... This time.... There were so many.... I have never seen anything like it. I dont even know what to say..

For those that will say hydregen peroxide at 2 to 4 is too strong, its not... It adds oxygen to the roots and kills larvae etc... HOWEVER .... it will indeed kill the beneficial microbes that are in your soil. You would need to resupplement with microbes the following day.

I have used hydregen peroxide mixed with water dating back to the 80's.


But wow... these were some resistant suckers.. I ran 5 gallons of mix through... still getting larvae and they were NOT dying.. I have never experienced this...

Well its been a while, but I keep the soil very rich. I mean.. RICH - not over nuted - . Organic methods.. So... I guess that the new organic methods these days draw these things out.

I used to back in the day just use mushroom compost and wigglers. Never needed to add a single thing to the soil. Figured I would try to have some fun before my demise. I have stage 2 breast cancer. So im hoping that I can enjoy it a little while trying to beat this stuff.

I'm a total newb so keep that in mind...
I had a few fungus gnats show up in my first grow. I added a tablespoon of mosquito bits to my water bucket and just let it sit for a day or two and watered the plants as normal. Gnats gone in a couple days. Also added a yellow fly catcher for any adults.

I just use FF OF 30% perlite and just amend when I up them to their final pots with ewc, sb/bg guano and fish bone meal, and all I have to do is just water them with a little Epson salt to have them finish out nicely...

She doesn't look bad at all! If that was a FB version, I would have topped her once because I have found for the FB Gelato, she produces much more if she is topped once!

Yea. 2 days later it was complete havoc on her.

She was being eaten alive at the roots.

I have tried the ocean forest and happy. I have two on the other side of the tent that I need to treat tonight.

went and bought some heavy duty neem oil.

I guess I will be bleaching the enclosure down and trying for a sticky tarp.

Doing a switch up on the soil.

Starting a new og west coast in coco. Perlite very. Topping with clay balls.

Doing individualized nutes this time. Organics.

Darn flies got my first plant in 32 years. She was getting sick too fast.

Let me know your experience with Neem oil. I tried it once on a plant I had with a heavy black aphid bloom on it. Didn't seem to do much of anything. For the fungus gnats mosquito bits worked great for me as a great biological control without chemicals. I may just always leave a tablespoon in my watering bucket.
