I just wanted to start this thread to get grower opinions on which medium is better to grow weed in. Soil ? Coco coir ? Or pete moss ? Or those blends like sunshine 4 mix or promix hp which are soiless but mainly peat moss Please let me know your opinions and reasons behind them. Thanks all

Why do u say it like that ? I did a bit of research and it sounds like coco is the filet minion. Coco = more oxygen. No way to Over water. More vigorous growth. And no bugs

Because a thread like this is not going to lead to a serious conversation.
People have been fighting about everything lately if you haven't noticed.

The best choice is what works for you.
The one you can figure out is best. :bigjoint:
LOL! I was just typing: The best choice is what works for you.

Promix or soil, both seem similar and easy to follow others who already do it and need very little to get started.

I can't think of many reasons to pick one over another except your situation and feelings. I like it simple so that's me, maybe try a few over time you don't have to stick in one.

Overwatering is grower problem, you can't avoid that except in hydro.

I am using coco mix, I do it on my own and got great results so far.
%40 coco
%25 perlite
%10 spagnum moss
%25 worm castings
+ I used biotabs and easy boost

Watering with just PH ed water.

If I see deficiencies at flowering I top with BioBizz nutrition.

Let me tell my opinions as well :)

Soil sounds good but in my case did not go well because of flies etc.
Peat moss sounds unreasonable for me because its mined and not suitable for organic.
Coco with the mix above does fantastic, in fabric pots its really easy to manage. Flush when ever you want it supplies enough oxygen too roots even if you water it too much

The best one if you want the best of all world except hydro is going to be something like Sunshine Advanced #4 Mix (Yellow/Black bale) it has coco, peat and perlite in it as well as some microbial stuff and other goodies. Be warned some of the bales are nice n active with microbial life and will smell a bit funny when you first break them open and maybe even have white moss.

I love coco now, but there is a learning curve to it if you've grown in soil all your life. If you treat it like soil, you'll either fail outright, or just not grow your crop to it's full potential.

Id say organic methods regardless are best but id say soil or compost is the best medium in my opinion but if i wasnt growing in that it be coco if u grow organic and your good at it good coco grown bud is almost as good as soil grown id still say soil edges it in taste over any medium but cocos close others may disagree but thats how i find it

Personally I found my love to be 50/50 coco/perlite, you can make it yourself or buy "Cloud Coir" by Char-Coir its like $17/bag though.

Are u saying the bud quality will be better in soil aswell. Or just flavour. Coco = bigger yield I heard but I will not give up quality for quantity

Everything is easy when you have experience with it.

We all have our favourites but the guy next to you will swear his medium is better.

There is no winner for me , just what I prefer

Best of luck which ever way you go.
If a person had an online tutor.
Which medium do you think would take longer to get dialed in to get full expressions from the plant? Coco or organic soil.

I think organic soil would take longer to learn and achieve top results.

What do you think?
