Does anyone know that If I cross a male auto flower to a female Photoperiod or vice versa will the resulting seeds be reg auto flower, photoperiod, or a faster version Photoperiod? I got some reg auto flower seeds on the way & would possibly like to to some chucking :weed:

Auto x auto will always be auto. Auto x photo 1st time is a photo. M and F from those crossed will be 50/50. 3rd round should be 75% auto and next they should be full autos. Might've missed if the 2nd gen would be 25% autos, but I used to have a picture to link when this came up so i know im close.

I see this a lot and first of all all auto flowers are females so therefore you have to get pollen or create pollen from that female autoflower first.
It's another conversation in itself, but if you look up anything on selfing with colonial silver you would understand more of that. But in the end you do get a pollen that is male but holds the female gene.
In my experiment it happened by mistake years ago. What happened was I had a photoflower that I was interested in growing and was supposed to be femalized from a breeder and it was a male and it pollinated one of my auto flowers... The result of the seed was what the male was with this photo flower strain traits in place and they were all femalized. I've been growing them for 3 years and not one had popped as a male or autoflower.
So I would say just with my experience that anytime you cross a male photo flower with a auto flower of any variety it turns into a photo flower but femalizes the strain.. Don't hold me to it but this is what I've experienced and I'm going through at this very moment. It will also pulse traits from the auto flower to because when it happened to mine my auto flower was a lemon haze and my photo was a blueberry OG and it had mixture of both tastes terpenes.

Don't know how you think "all auto flowers are female". Feral ruderalis plants are of both sexes, that's how they propagate. I have "regular" Auto flowers, that are male and female (i just culled a male last night). All autos have ruderalis in their genetics but there are definitely male auto flowers

It is my understanding that a cross of an auto and photo male or female will make photo seeds (F1)with an auto recessive gene. If you breed those seeds.. some will be autos some will be pure photos and some will be photos with a recessive auto gene (F2). Breeding the auto from the ones that auto will make regular auto seeds(F3). :peace:

I think that after you have made the full auto that you can back cross to one of the original plants from the first batch if you saved a clone of a nice plant with the full auto and 50% of those seeds would be auto. :peace:

Crossing an auto to a photo will result in 25% of the plants being autoflowering. Further crosses selecting only autoflowering plants will eventually achieve the goal of an autoflowering line.

Autoflowering plants can be male or female. Most seed sellers sell feminized autos but some companies still sell regular seed autoflowers. I,e Afterthought Autos.
