I'm not going to disagree with you about the Portland Police but here's what I have observed. In the last 20 years the only issue I've had with the PPD was getting pulled over for speeding and in each instance they just gave me a ticket and I drove away. They didn't target me or do anything I felt was unwarranted. And the violence people are causing is targeting private property that in non way has anything to do with the PPD. So why are they attacking ordinary people and their property?
They need to go away. They're doing nothing productive and are just causing damage because they can. A bunch of losers wreaking havoc for nor discernable goal.

We still have a problem with fascists controlling our police. Mayor Wheeler is going the wrong direction by appealing for more laws and fewer restrictions on the use of force by police.

Bernie was a Democrat when it was convenient. Having said that, I actually like Bernie and think he has good ideas. He’s the only politician I can think of who’s been consistent with his beliefs his entire career.
Bernie’s mistake was calling himself a socialist in the USA. Essentially making himself the boogie man.
I’d vote for Bernie if I could and would take him over our current PM, any day.

Bernie tried to win the Democratic Party's nomination by tearing it apart.
There was another politician in the primary who had been consistent with their beliefs their entire career, but with some key difference from Bernie. She was then and still is a Democrat, and unlike Bernie she had real accomplishments to her name. I was ready to vote for her if she has still been in the race when Oregon voted. Elizabeth Warren.

According to The Washington Post, Trump wanted every family member who had been protected during his term in office to be covered for six more months. Under his directive, security will continue for daughter, Ivanka and her husband, Jared Kushner; son Donald Jr.; son Eric Trump and his wife, Lara; and daughter Tiffany. Protection will also continue for Trump’s grandchildren.
Trump also continued Secret Service protection for six additional months to former Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, former chief of staff Mark Meadows, and former National Security Adviser Robert O’Brien. A president is able to order Secret Service protection for any person he chooses. But the Post noted it is unusual for a departing president to provide security for relatives past their college years.
Federal law mandates Trump, his wife, Melania, and their 14-year-old son, Barron, are entitled to protection. Trump and the former first lady will receive Secret Service protection for the rest of their lives. Barron will receive it until he turns 16.

No silver spoon in her mouth as a baby. She ended up with a JD in law from Rutgers in 1970. Practiced law for a time and taught at various universities before becoming full professor at U Penn Law School teaching business law. Her specialty is bankruptcy and consumer protection law. She worked as an advisor to Mike Synar's National Bankruptcy Review Commission in 1995, held a position in FDIC and worked on the Congressional TARP oversight committee. She became a Senator in 2013 and said her main motivation was because she felt she could do more from that post to protect consumers and reduce the power of banks.
Bernie dropped out of college, kicked around as a writer, eventually got a job as Mayor of Burlington and then went to Washington.
My main criteria for President is almost exactly the same as when I'm interviewing people to work in my lab. Strong record of accomplishment, works well with others, demonstrates the ability to accomplish difficult and complex tasks, motivated to learn as much as they can on subjects they are working on.
