What
The whole reason I switched to coco 6 years ago was because of fungus gnats, I could slow them down fine but never completely killed them off until the switch. I've never had a single one since switching, I didn't even know it was possible in coco.
what nutes do u use and do u mix anything with the cana. Or just straight cana

I use Canna's Coco nute line. I grow in 100% coco, I know a lot of people add perlite but its honestly not needed at all.

Do u only do that to the brick cana coco or bag one aswell
I treat the bagged coco the same way after adding it to my pots. I know it says it comes pre-rinsed but I still like to give it a good flush with the CalMag/Rhizotonic anyway.

I got a few in canna coco not really a problem.

If you run coco dont use fabric pots and don't leave any water in the saucer and you won't get gnats.

I run coco in 3 gal fab pots and the salt buildup on the outside of the pots breeds gnats lmao

I have seen it done both ways and here soon will do a side by side and see the pros and cons
I've done side by side with clones twice several years ago...the ones without perlite seemed to respond better, and buds were a bit denser. Not a huge difference but it was noticeable. The perlite is just wasting space the roots could be filling. I do put a layer of perlite at the very bottom of my pots to assist with draining but even that isn't necessary.

Can you recommend and brand of coco that’s not in brick form. For my first coco attempt I want to keep easy. I was think cana coco and there A B nute line to keep it simple
Mother earth coco/perlite 70/30 mix.

These are 75 days from sprout. In ME coco. 3gal fabric pots. Halfway through week two of flower.

Started feeding silica when I flipped. Been feeding calmag and nutrients since day 3 from sprout. 20210121_231115.jpg20210121_231126.jpg

How u solve issue
Don't use fabric pots. Otherwise you're using peroxide every week or two to kill larvae and using sticky traps once a week to catch the gnats.

Or keep the fab pots clean but thats hard to do when you scrog since you can't turn the pots.
