New grow Dr. Earth

Just planted some seeds in fox farm happy Frog soil with distilled water. Will mix more ocean forest, worm castings and top dress with dr earth starter fertilizer and water with neptunes harvest seaweed fertilizer when they are ready for transplant from cups to 1 gallon.

Had leftover Foxfarm soil, which is good from my experience and looks like similar ingredients to the one from the feeding schedule, but had issues with foxfarm trio nutes last round so trying dr. Earth organic top dressing this time. Wish me luck. :)

I let them veg in happy Frog for 3 weeks without feeding, all good. Fed a tsp grow big and some leaves started turning color. Transplanted into fresh ocean forest soil, didnt feed for 3 weeks, all good. Switched lights, started feeding big Bloom and tiger bloom on week 1, then, week 2, lots of leaves turn yellow. Buds are developing nicely but yellowing and leaves getting brown spots occurs early in flower.

Yea I never did, but people swear by worm castings, so I was gonna add some along with the top dressing when transplanting this time. No additional worm castings?

Up to you I’m sure there’s some in there. I hear happy frog isn’t as hot as ocean forest so you may have to feed sooner.

Dr Earth top dress is good, but stay away from the new nitro big, it’s absolute shit. It’s now made from “recycled food digest” which is code for made with leftover restaurant scraps including meat. It smells like hot garbage now, instead of good old fashioned urea.

Here are the products I will be using as directed in the schedule
  • One 4-pound bag of Dr. Earth® Organic 2™ Starter Fertilizer 2-4-2 (the start)
  • One 4-pound bag of Dr. Earth® Organic 5™ Tomato and Vegetable Fertilizer 5-7-3 (the middle)
  • One 4-pound bag of Dr. Earth® Organic 8™ Bud & Bloom Booster 4-10-7 (the finish)
  • One pint of Dr. Earth® Liquid Solution™ All Purpose Fertilizer 3-3-3 (the maintenance)
  • One pint of Dr. Earth® Seaweed Concentrate 0-0-4.5 - I couldn't find this. Looks like they discontinued it. Will try Neptune Harvest Seaweed Fertilizer instead

All the liquids are made with that nasty assed restaurant garbage. I refused to give it to my girls when I read the strange looking new bottle, so my wife put it on her house plants...they hated it and it reeks like sewage.

Week 1: Day 1- Thoroughly blend Dr. Earth® Organic 2™ starter fertilizer into the top 4 inches of soil in the containers, at the rate of ¼ cup per each 5-gallon container. Water it in with a solution of Dr.Earth® Seaweed Concentrate. (See instructions above.)

Week 2: Mix Dr. Earth® Liquid Solution™ at a rate of 4 tablespoons per gallon of water. Apply 2 ½ cups of solution per 5-gallon plant.

Week 3: Mix ¼ cup of Dr Earth® Organic 2™ Starter Fertilizer into the top 2 inches of soil in each 5-gallon container. Scratch in completely, but be careful not to disturb the established root system. Water thoroughly.

Week 4: Mix 4 tablespoons of Dr. Earth® Liquid solution® and 2 tablespoons of Dr. Earth® Seaweed Concentrate into 1 gallon of water. Apply 2 ½ cups of solution per plant. After feeding, water lightly with pure water, to drive the nutrients down into the soil.

Week 5: Mix Dr. Earth® Organic 5™ Vegetable Fertilizer at a rate of ¼ cup per five-gallon container mixed thoroughly into the top 2 inches of soil trying not to disturb the established root system. Water thoroughly.

You can drop the starter because you already started them in soil with nutrients.

I would look for something more even for the middle. 4-4-4.

the liquid seems like overkill IMO.

you could get by with less and still do well.

I didnt have issues with just foxfarm soil in the beginning last time, so you have a point there. My challenge is weeks 1-3 flower and keeping the leaves healthy during that time and after.

I struggled with the same thing. They need they 4-4-4 during those weeks to get them through stretch.

So these weeks are weeks of flower? If so I misread that the first time.

Just saw that I didnt paste all of it. It goes to "week 12 until harvest"

What 4-4-4 do you suggest?
