Will this help get rid of heat or absord?

Building a light right now, first one where I got all the separate supplies myself. I am using angled aluminum to mount my lights on. If I wrapped all the metal parts in electric tape would it have any benefit, I am not an electrician.

The tape is insulation, if you’re looking for the lights to remain cooler, remove the tape.

The bare frame does act as a heat sink. Sorta. The heat sink itself takes the majority of the heat. The frame will warm but its not all that.

for sure is there any negatives to the tape tho? im making a 320 watt hlg qb96 3x 3foot line with the ac infinity 140mm fans so heat isnt an issue truthfully.

Respect. But the tape thing is retarded. You're insulating a surface that radiates heats. It'd be like putting a coat on a heater.

Think about computers. All the heat sinks. Have you ever seen someone wrap the processor with electrical tape?

id keep them bare, if only for cleaning off later on. If its for safety then just make sure your wiring is good and ground the frame. If there was a zap it wouldnt go thru you, it would go to ground.

pls dont ground your frame when using a meanwell driver.
the zap generated by your lights + - wont go to ground anyway.
