well yesterday i got a lovely 24 hour notice that the apartments i live in are coming to inspect and test the smoke detectors and change the batteries.. i noticed that right above my 2nd bedroom lies a nice little smoke detector.. if you have seen my grow its definitely not something that can be moved without a weeks notice LOL :cuss:.

well shit i went to home depot put a locking knob on the door and am just gonna pull the ol my roomate is not going to be in town till this weekend so sorry bout that..

they came a few weeks ago for a sprinkler inspection and it worked ok.. pulled the same trick LOL and it was a person from the fire department. they said they were going to put a note on the report but they havent come back and i doubt they will since the apts. are about 5 years old.

im wondering if i can get a qualified inspector to check them to satisfy the last requirements... this is a lesson why you dont grow in apartments lol such a hassle.. at least im in a med friendly state if anything did happen!

Well, usually if you arent home, maitnance will just use a master key and come in! Hell, the last apartment I lived in some1 called the exterminator to come out and they came to the wrong apt!! MINE!!!! The fuckin office just gave this guy a key. I heard a knock at the door and didnt answer because I had weed and shrooms laying everywhere. Next thing I know, the fucker uses the key and comes on in!! I told him he had the wrong apt, and he left! I would try to get the smell down if its bad. I grew 51 plants in my last apartments, and I will never do that again!! Luckely each apartment had its own entrance!

i saw my apt owners truck in the lot and ne never comes so I shit a brick and dismanteled my 4x4 x7 tent put the charoal filters away took down the fans and lights moved the tray and through all the clothes i had on the pile of crap. I put the plants, thank god only a few weeks old, under another rubbermaid. Took half an hour to do all this. Then i saw him leave lol. I was almopst pissed. Took me an hour to resetup everything. Hehe, better safe than sorry i figured and went through with it.

ya i def. will be getting into a house next.. luckily i am in veg so there isnt going to be a smell problem.. just seems sketchy that they have come twice and twice cant enter the room LOL.

i decided to be a little proactive and had an extra 9v laying around so i went ahead and swapped it out one of the batteries so when the agent comes or whatever i can be like yea i noticed that it was beeping and low on batteries so i checked em all about a month ago so when i say they cant go in the other room because my "roomie" is out of town he hopefully wont want to make extra work for himself and say it is good on the report.

i figure once he checks it and sees i replaced it and its working he will buy it haha. if not i guess i will cross that bridge when i get there. if i were him i def. wouldnt wanna reschedule to come back and check it again and i figure they just do it to cover their asses since old ladies arent gonna be climbing ladders to change it every six months LOL.

still hoping for the best.

Been in my apartment 5 years. the guy has never come to inspect ANYTHING. When somethings broken I have to drag him over here by his ears. Good luck to you.

wish i had that landlord LOL this is like a corporate management company or some shit i donno... damn rules and regulations haha

yeah its great until the toilet stops working or a light socket starts sparking. lol. 2x now ive had to call in contractors myself because that fat ass does not give a f*ck. Dont get me wrong, gorgeous building but its gettin old. i guess its worth it to not have the hassel like youre going through.

i had a similar situation they were doing "random inspections of occupied units"

luckily (edit, purposefully) my grow op is a dresser so i just pulled the dresser out of the closet, got a few big cardboard boxes for the plants, and just laid them out like i was just moving in... they didn't do an inspection on my apt but i slept a lot better the night before...

well had the inspection today.. pulled the old i changed em a month ago routine and was really cool about it and whatever. got to the locked door and i said i would have asked her to leave it unlocked but she has been gone all week. he asked when she would be back i said usually the weekends. he was like ahh well shes going to need to leave a key at the front office because i need to inspect it. i casually said thats cool i will do it and leave a note.

i was trying to spy and see if he had a clipboard or something he was writing stuff down on but couldnt see him as he turned the corner with his stuff when he left. i am hoping he didnt write anything and is expecting me to make a request for him to inspect it. i guess if i get a note or whatever i will cross that bridge when i get there..

what do yall think?

edit: Shit in your pants indeed... that is not a setup that seems to like being moved around. I think that there is no easy solution to you problem...

If you "cross that bridge" wwhen you get a note you may only have the same 24 hours notice to do something about it. Its a beautiful grow but nothings worth ending up homeless over. Or worse prison. My advise would be to get it moved (as difficult as it may be) and get them in asap to check it out so you can go back to business as usual. If they give you 24 hours notice again in a week and again you say the roommate is out of town, you're starting to raise some serious red flags that you dont want raised. good luck with whatever you decide to do but if its me i take no chances....ever.

we're not freaking out because it isn't happening to us... I had my inspection a week ago... had to break it all down, and hide it all in the bathroom... I would advise you to do the same... and this IS something to freak out about LOL
