Ive been using a sub irrigated planter for a couple weeks, and the results are incredible. Lowes has a 20" wide x 24" long planter available for $30. Best $30 ive spent on growing, takes out the number 1 issue new growers face, proper watering.
I am curious about this, but haven't been able to locate the product you are talking about. Is it possible you might be able to link me to it so I could check it out?
I been watering them about 300ml of water. But now there getting a bit bigger I was wondering if I should maybe feed them more until I see a small bit of run off at the bottom. Or just keep doing what I'm doing for now. I usually only water when the plant asks for it i.e when the leaves start to curl slightly.

I don't personally think those plants are ready to water to runoff like you're talking about in that container. I think the amount of water you are giving it makes sense. But, gradually increasing the amount as you go is good. Waiting to water until the leaves start drooping is not something I would recommend (if you can help it).
Ok thanks for your help. They generally need feeding around every 4 days (when leaves droop) so I'll feed the day before and just add a little more but by bit. Also when would you recommend adding bites? Regards sp
Thank you for providing the link. That thing is pretty neat. I have had some over-saturation issues with other self-watering products. But, that one seems to be getting glowing reviews. I might consider it for down the road.
You're welcome. Three days may be a good schedule for now, but I'd keep an eye out for signs of over-watering. What are bites? I apologize, but am unfamiliar with the term.

Oh. That's something that you'd probably get a lot of different opinions on here. Some people might even want to know specifics like what you plan to give them, and how much. To me personally, those plants have exited the seedling stage. If they belonged to me, I would start giving vegetative nutrients in pH-adjusted water.
That's what I'm gonna do. I've been giving them a little bit of root stimulator since seed which seems to have had a positive effect. So I'm gonna start off with some the nutrients I've got and follow the chart that comes with them
