In your experience with regular seeds, what percentage did you have with females over males?

The part you clipped there is just an explanation of how an XY system works, it even says "If cannabis is the XY system" because it's an open question at that part of the segment. As I said, the author concludes that it's likely an XY system (at the end of the segment, not the part you clipped out) but your dismissive "it's 50/50 shut up morons" attitude is incorrect and uncalled for.

Yeah, it was a single seed in some top shelf stuff from the dispensary. I'm excited to see what comes of it.

I’m crossing my fingers for you! I’ve had mixed experiences from bagseed, most good, some terrible. I like doing multiple bagseeds outdoors, low risk. If there’s a bad pheno I either make edibles or chuck it. I’m currently holding wedding cake, jet fuel, gelato, pink gas... all bagseed, all waiting to be germed this spring

I've found the ratio of male to female to be luck of the draw. I grow regular seeds almost exclusively. I've had times where I got all males or all females. Sometimes 50/50 or 60/40, 70/30, 80/20. It is what it is. I don't give it anymore thought than that. I'm probably one of a few that's disappointed when all turn out to be female. But it happens.

It's a spare spot in my garden, so if it's a male or a bad pheno it's not a huge issue for me as long as one of my other (feminized from breeder) seeds comes through.

I'm probably being overly pedantic, for our purposes here the current scientific thought seems to be that the ratio should be around 50/50.

I agree...theoretically it should be 50/50 and likely with 10,000 plants it would be very close to 50/50, but when popping just a dozen or so, it is the luck of the draw

I recently started 11 plants..... 4 were female, 7 were male
