What would you use as an elevator?

So im going to be able to save some money by getting these 1.5gl pots that come with saucers. But im trying to figure out what I can use for elevators to keep them out of the runoff. The alternative is buying these elevator/saucers for 60 bucks and I don't want too lol. Im sure there's an alternative.

Any ideas on what I could put underneath em?

If u have some spare bricks or pieces of 2x4. Hell anything just use your imagination and whatever u got laying around.

Whats the diameter of the pots? I'd grab a stick of 3" pvc, cut (3) 3" long sections per pot. Nice and simple. If you wanted to get fancy you could hot glue/epoxy/pvc glue them together in groups of 3 or 4, be much more stable.

Took the 13" risers and trimmed them with a 6" side grinder using a thin wafer wheel. They fit the small hydrofarm 8" saucers now and are perfect size for 2gal smart pot.

I tried that and ended up with a giant mass of roots in the rocks. Had pH issues. Wasnt able to get all the excess run off out. This was my feeble attempt with rocks. Your results may vary.

Using three of those in a 2×4 with 3 gal fabric pots right now. They are perfect for my little set up in there.

I used to go on walks in the desert and find flat pieces of shale. They make good risers. You can source just about anything you need if you look close and have an imagination. Also since I was taking rocks from the desert I made sure to haul out big bags of trash as well. Paying it forward. Necessity, and imagination are great motivators. Good luck on your grow

With big saucers. Mine are 18" and about 3' deep. I holds my desired run off fine watering a 5gal pot. Then I transfer it over to another. I leave them raised on the lifter always. Better circulation. Less chance of root rot forming in the bottom center of the pot.

I'm running 1.5gallon pots! The bottoms are MAYBE 7" lol those will take up too much room preventing me from running 10 or more. Im just gonna get the 10" elevator/saucer combos if I cant figure out what to put under em once they arrive. Im gonna try a few things first lol

Then you just go with the appropriate size for your pot bro. I would shop around tho. You can get them for peanuts at some places. Was just giving you the info on what I used.

Imagination and a 3/8 inch drill bit can do wonders...try to avoid anything porous ie wood...great places for nasties to grow.
