I usually just smoke my trim that I have sitting around after a grow but recently I was gifted a new 5 gallon 5 bag extraction bag set. The bags microns are 220,160,120,73,25. I have done some research but was wondering what method and or techniques that some of you do to help produce quality hash.

I dont try and get the BEST hash but I will just use a 150 and a 40.

I put all the trim in a bin with shitloads of ice and stir it... then put the bags in the sink and pick uo the bin and pour it all through. At the end I'll chill more water and poor some through to try and rinse off some more trichs. Works ok

That looks amazing man. What's the process you use to make that quality?
Keep it simple, use fresh frozen material in my washing machine. Usually 3-4 washes at most.

The taste and color is much better with fresh frozen. You’ll get more yield with dried flowers but the taste and color won’t be the same. Obviously some strains look & wash much better than others as well.

I dont have a machine is it worth getting? Do you wet trim then for your material? Ate you using flower for your hash?

I made bubble hash last fall. I used all 4 bags I put the bags in order into a 5 gallon pail. First bag was filled with trimmings and some seedy buds I had that had been frozen, and two trays of ice cubes and some ice cold water to cover the material in the bottom of the bag. I added more ice 1/2 way thru the stirring time. Stirred that for 15 to 20 minutes then let it settle. Removed the first bag and placed it in the sink. Then I used a spoon to scrape the residue from the bottom of the second bag then repeated that with each bag until the last bag came out.

In the first pic you can see the 3 different renderings from each bag. Once they were on parchment paper I used the 25 micron sheet and placed it on top of the blob and pressed down with a paper towel. The liquid came thru the micron sheet and was absorbed by the paper towel. The 3rd pic shows the hash after using the sheet. At this point you can use it but it is not completely dried and cured yet so do not store it in a sealed container. All of the trimming that I used was from plants that I had grown last summer and had just cleaned plus about 1 oz of plants grown the year before. The people that I bought the bags from recommend that you do the process twice. I only did it once and got if I remember correctly 18 to 20 grams.

Thank you for explaining your process to me.I appreciate it and helps give a visual perspective on what to look for.

I have spent some time looking through some videos on YT. I have a few questions still I see in many videos they have a white bag that zips shut I do not have one of those. Many use machines are they worth the investment or can I get near same results by bucket and spoon?

You only need a machine if you have a hell of a lot to process. Easiest way would be to do your mixing in a separate container, say a second 5 gallon bucket, using a drill with a paddle in the bit. Then pour the mix into the 5 gallon with the bags in it. Then start the sifting process.
