yea we don't have rapid rooter here...you think that's the problem? the first time I tried a grow I germinated them in an aero garden and the are very similar if not even the same as rapid rooter and I had exactly the same root structure and issuesusing rockwool, huh?
i would think of switching over to something else if possible. could you put the plants in a neoprene collar without medium?yea we don't have rapid rooter here...you think that's the problem?
i start from seed so I need some kind of mediumi would think of switching over to something else if possible. could you put the plants in a neoprene collar without medium?
hmmm, i gotcha. not sure what to do then but it's either light leaks or the rockwool.i start from seed so I need some kind of medium
i will try the tea tomorrow and if there is anything left I hope it will get dealt with by all the bennies....do you see root rot?hmmm, i gotcha. not sure what to do then but it's either light leaks or the rockwool.
can you flood your tubes 100% with bleach solution? maybe you just aren't killing it all
Which organic nutes do you mean?Id bet part of the problem is those nutes - they have a lot of organics in them, and organic's feed bacteria like crazy. Also, forget teas for the same reason.
You are close to loosing them I think.
i may be wrong but pool shock is bleach(chlorine).FFS use poolshock bleach is for hair
Post #20, second pic - nutes derived from algae = organic. Plus plant growth hormones, and most of the other ingredients.Which organic nutes do you mean?
They both are chlorine based, but some bleach has dies, and other stuff in it you might not want in your pot. These days you also need to check the label on pool shock. Some of it has added crap you for sure dont want - like copper and/or other algicides.i may be wrong but pool shock is bleach(chlorine).
the issue started before I added the mycorrhiza. I only used geh trio calmag and silica no organics. The pics were taken before adding the tea and if organic is the reason for root rot and slime why is heisenbergs tea the advice I’m getting from various hydro guysPost #20, second pic - nutes derived from algae = organic. It looks like adding the mycorrhiza hasnt helped any.the issue started before I added the mycorrhiza. I only used geh trio calmag and silica no organics. Why did you stray from your soil past?Hi,
this is my first aeroponic grow I been growing in soil for a few years and some grows with dwc never had an issue this bad.
I germinated the seeds in aerogarden with no problems but I guess I transplanted them too late so the roots get touched and exposed because I couldn't get them through the net pot holes so I guess they got contaminated.
They are 12 days old but look very behind and are autos 2 days ago I put 5ppms per gallon bleach into the water but no change until now so Im not sure to quit the girls or give them some more time......
water temp is around 64-68F and ph stable at 5.8 with RO water 200ppms calmag, silica and GHE tripart ferts all 500ppms...
i use ghe calmag but i think for the next run i use tapwater without letting it sit overnight so i have some calmag and bleach(chlorine) and will only use maxibloom like i did in dwc with no issues at all. Ive heard maxibloom is very clean I will even let the pump on a timer 1on4off i hope less water more oxygen no slime....i hoopppeeeIt looks like adding the mycorrhiza hasnt helped any.
Which calmag? Some have organic components and/or add ons. Other than that, I dont know why the rot started. All your other specs seem fine.
Maybe you just got unlucky or accidentally transferred some contaminant at some point. I happen to live in a rain forest with about 100 foot thick layer of decomposing vegitation for soil, plus tons of mold, algae, etc just floating around in the air waiting to attack my rez if I drop my guard for one moment.
As far as the tea recommendation, there are all sorts of silly people on forums recommending all sorts of 'stoner science'. Heck, for all you know my advice is pure silly season hoodoo spewing from an over stoned brain
To be fair though, some people manage to run hydro successfully using organics in their nutes, and some have success with hydroguard, etc, so maybe that tea will work for you. If you dont want to go the chlorine route, then it cant hurt much more to give it a try. i'd do something fast though. Root rot is hard as heck to kill once its established and it will just get harder the longer you wait.
do you think you can cut one out of the rockwool without destroying the roots? i still think the RW is the issue being wet all the timei use ghe calmag but i think for the next run i use tapwater without letting it sit overnight so i have some calmag and bleach(chlorine) and will only use maxibloom like i did in dwc with no issues at all. i always had some minor issues on soil so i tried dwc and liked the amout of control, ph and ec and got some beautiful big ass ladies the problem with dwc systems is the need a large area of space and the girls get very large thats why i liked the aeroflo system you can grow 10 smaller plants. Why did you stray from your soil past?
