Spider Mites 2 weeks before harvest!

Sooooo. I had them for awhile. Not sure how I got them yet, but it's annoying. Noticed I've been taking pics of them for weeks when I've been taking photos of my buds with my endoscopy. Then saw them more and more. Only growing one plant now, it's still looking amazing and stinking up the place. But I just had to start my flush and realized I had these mother f**kers. Could spray. Watched a video of some guy harvest, and "wash" 3 plants in lemon juice and baking soda and was just stunned at what that guy did.

Finally saw this shit where you get 'predator' mites to eat and kill your spider mites. Used for outdoor mainly, but indoor places too. Find out these predator mites only eat spider mites and once the food source is gone they disperse and die off. So I ordered 2000 predator mites to find out they recommend me only using 5-6 mites in a 10 sqft area.... Well my tent is 16 sqft... Either way I released almost 700 predator mites on my plants just to make sure. I don't even know if they came out. Hopefully some did. It's been one week and next weekend will be harvest week! Photos!

Anyone got spider mites problem, just Google predator mites. 2-3 weeks they take to kill off the spider mites and then they are gone ( prefect for me to flush and harvest)! Enjoy some pics

I've had spider mites 2 or 3 times over the decades in my perpetual harvest system, and every time I had to take clones, spray them, and shut the entire room down for cleaning. But I never used predatory mites, so hopefully they're 100% effective for you.
There's going to be predatory mite carcasses in your smoke, fyi.

dont listen to anyone negative the 3 bucket wash works 100% its to late to spray chemicals you could do a grain alcohol / water spray at night then hit them with fans and drop the temps to knock them down a bit but basically at harvest do the three bucket wash 3 5 gallon buckets 1st 1 warm water 1 cup baking soda half cup of lemon juice and dunk each one in a swirling motion gently for 60 seconds then dunk in bucket 2 then bucket 3 hang in front of a fan 30 minutes then dry like usual you wont get every bug but 90% of the shit will be gone the trichomes wont suffer and you will have good clean smoke i did it and used a loupe before and after bugs were gone trichome heads were intact i was very careful this grow now 2 weeks out and i see a couple down low the little fuckers are sneaky its not your fault the doomsday guys will be chiming in i am sure but fuck them it works fine dont use peroxide thats for PM only

at least you will have a harvest better than most of these guys probably never made it that far

i had them worse than that i cried when i first noticed them i thought the white spots were sugar lol next run from day 1 use preventative measures and stay on top of it

The predator mites leave the area when they run out of food. Spider mites are legit their only source of food as well so they die off else where. Caught them early to where there are no webs that I can see. You all should really look into getting them. Got them mailed to me in 48 hours. All the other poor little buggers are going to die off now tho. Little early on the harvest and reintroducing nutrients for another week, then flushing again. Anyone have any suggestions on that?

It's pretty much a waste of time using predator mites 2 weeks from harvest. Your just going to have more bugs on your buds.

The best remedy for bugs is prevention. Mandatory spraying during veg regardless if you see bugs or not is how I ended that nasty plague. If you don't do some serious cleaning and prevention going forward those assholes will likely come back and visit you on future grows.

Once I started spraying neem all through veg I haven't had a problem with them. I don't use neem anymore but instead a sesame oil based spray I mix up that I think works better. No bugs for a very long time. And we have some super mites here in the PNW.

After this harvest you need to clean completely the room the tent is in and then clean it again. If you have houseplants you need to spray those for mites as well. It won't do any good to get rid of them in one spot if you have in another on other plants. That's something people don't always think about. Mites like other houseplants as much as they like cannabis. And more often than not they're harder to spot on other plants as houseplants typically tend to be hardier and may not show symptoms like a cannabis plant with relatively fragile leaves. But some houseplants are great hosts for mites.

Time to put on you battle attire and go to war.

What do u mix in your sesame oil spray? I’m in the 4th week of flower and i think I have Mites...just sprayed with neem oil today

Yeah probably spidermites then
Neem oil is organic, and you should be fine
But I dont like to chance any residual stuff on my buds I smoke first of all
Second, foilar spray in flower can cause extra moisture in the buds and encourage rot

Ladybugs are the best natural remedy to mites. Each ladybug can eat up to 100 mites a day!

Also, ladybugs would be a good alternative, however they don't eat the eggs... Reason why I got predator mites. They eat, kill and when no more food, leave in search for other food. Only thing these eat are spider mites as well....

For 3 grows I battled the mites. The next one I started early with Captain Jack's deadbug. Kept them at bay. The next grow I sprayed every two weeks. Didn't see one. My last grow I sprayed once over everything. Plants, rock base, walls. Nada, not a one. Trick is, as the directions say, hit'em before they web.
In this game that's the trick for all we do with bugs, nutes, whatever. Ounce of prevention
It's amazing what those little specks of nothing can do to your plants.

Didn’t have a mite issue... i was paranoid but i am Battling a gnat issue my last week of flower... i topped dressed with perlite hoping that will help and put acv in my tent
