IS IT ME, OR HAS ROLLITUP BECOME A PLACE TO DEBATE VS OFFERING ADVICE???

Less of a debate and more of a correction for people who give horrible advise and then continue to attempt to justify the bad info for 8 pages so they don't have to admit they are wrong.

That's what I see daily.

Unless it's flushing. That always degrades into shit.
Flushing? What's that? :p :bigjoint:

I’m starting to see a lot of threads turning into a place of debate. Don’t get me wrong, there is a difference between right and wrong, and good and bad advice. But it seems like even good advice isn’t good enough anymore, and there’s always someone that thinks the good advice stinks, and their way of doing things is better. I thought this was a community of growers attempting to help others get where they are now. Offering help and the ability to skip the trial and tribulations that come with growing as a beginner through their experience. I sometimes find myself not wanting to comment or offer advice because it will be scrutinized or flat out told it’s wrong. Like I said, there’s good and bad advice, there’s definitely right and wrong ways of doing things, but when the debates start to take over the reason the thread was created in the first place, it kind of leaves a bad impression about who we are here, and what we’re trying to accomplish as a community of nice, pleasant, educated growers which I believe 100% of you are. What’s your thoughts.....
This is why I don't post asking for suggestions on things I got going on. I like to do the "Dumb shit", The "That's a waste of time" shit... I also like to work with equipment that others feel may be controversial. Like cloning auto's... putting photoperiod clone cuts in the fridge for 2 months+... and order from ILGM lol

No one wants to hear any of it til it's been done successfully usually. I've cloned an auto.. bought beans from the dreaded ILGM (Which I think I bs 100%) and I currently have 4 clones in water waiting to see if I get roots. 2 of them look promising.

I would think it should be both
Of course we are all here to help(well maybe not all)
But there is of course bad advice also, and to help someone is to correct that.
Now, sometimes its hard to say for some (including me) what is bad advice, and what is just a different style of growing.

In the end though, there is only one way to become better growers as a whole, and that is through trial, error, debates, experiments, and sharing experiences.
You forgot common sense. Lol

How did clone cuts in the fridge work out? I've never heard that before. Looks like it works from a quick search. I have never bought rooting hormones or cloner systems and always just put them in water or even straight into soil with high success. It just takes longer the old school way.

They are going on day 3 in the water. No roots yet, but the bottom where I re-cut it turning white. Same color of healthy roots. Stems are still sturdy.
I have root riot cubes soaking in a Great white solution. Going to move them into the plugs today. Then give it another week or 2 if they still look good, but just haven't rooted.

i put a similar chart to this in a post yesterday, but to reiterate, its called the duning-kruger effect and it explains Rollitup as well as the conversations taking place most other places on the internet.

This happens in literally everything in life. Some people call it beginner's luck, or the peak of mount stupid. Whatever you call it its the same principle: people start to have a little bit of success and get overconfident. They become eager to teach the skills they themselves only acquired very recently, or in some cases not acquired at all. Recognizing this psychological phenomenon in others and especially in yourself will help you quicker become a true master of your trade.

I can offer you a simple solution for the specific case of Rollitup though. #1 You don't need an internet forum to grow grade A+ top shelf weed. Everything you need is in books published before you were born. Focus on yourself and (if you want) the members that post pictures of finished buds. If someone is not posting any pictures of finished buds, assume they are full of shit. Once you grow top shelf product, get it tested. Once you know that you are growing top shelf buds with top shelf THC content, the pissing contest becomes funnier to watch.

^ this

Most of the info anybody could ever need from this forum can be done with a simple search.

I just find all forums are about the USA & Canada- no one interested in others and there views if out side these regions - we grow weeds for the same reason - not to be treated like leapers - same as companies that advertise on forums they are only interested in local(USA&Canada)- companies loose out - I just ordered another 4 lights ,3 extractor fans and about to order a pallet of fert ( and nothing to do with this forum)... I think the main problem is new people to the forum( and older members) dont know how to use a search function and when they do and comment they get shot down for talking on an old thread or some other crap- enough bleating off to hospital for scans and tests
