Burnt smell in grow room?

Smh this grow has been one thing after another.
walked into water the plants and room smells like a burnt rubbery smell. And I can’t for the life of me figure out where it’s coming from. No hot cords, no hot outlets, can’t smell it stronger anywhere in room then anywhere else. And after a few seconds nose adjust to it and can’t smell it. But if you walk out and then walk into room it hits you in the face.
what could it be that I’m maybe not thinking to check?

Sometimes a transistor or cap can burn up in a random electronic device and cause such a smell. Almost ionized burnt rubberish.

Okay so would that usually happen in ballast or hood? So that I know where to check first.

Check the exhaust fan. Pull the duct off it. Spin the blade by hand to see if it feels gritty. Smell it too.

Also check the speed controller.

It can be anything not just your light...some fans...controllers..a dehu, humidifier...pretty much anything with electricity and any circuits
Could be something else entirely...just stabbing in the dark.

He needs to check everything that requires power. If something smells burnt. It's a serious thing. Forget the damn plants. You can't grow if the house burns down.

I unplugged one of the lights. And smell started going away after 10 minutes. I’m going to plug it back in and see if it comes back.
mans right now they are open. No inline fan or ducting. Attached. Was struggling keeping the room up to temp (has been less than 5 degrees in mornings outside).
Only other thing in the room was a fan which I took out of room and smelt and had no smell to it.

My first instinct was feel and smell all plugs in the room, cords, ballast, put my face against the opening in the hoods, ect. Couldn’t feel heat or smell it stronger anywhere.

So that light has been plugged back in for 30 minutes and smell almost fine from room.
I noticed some dust and such in hood. Not sure if dust or dander getting in there or on bulb would make that smell.

Yeah debris on a hot surface can burn

I moved my tent in my basement and surrounded it with black plastic sheeting to keep the heat in ( I dont wanna heat my whole basement). After it was all set up and running I smelled a burning plastic smell really strong. I checked everything twice and couldn't figure it out. I eventually realized that it was the plastic I used to surround the tent

I have no clue what it was. Had everything running normal today. And nothing. Only thing is I replaced the fan. But that fan I have been running in my bedroom. No issues.
