Do breeders straight up bullshit us about harvest time or they just harvest under PERFECT conditions?

There are strains that do flower quite fast. In fact I have a cross I've been working with for a couple+ years that is extremely fast flowering at 7 - 8 weeks from flipping to 12/12.
Nice but I would think that is more the exception than the rule. Cool that you found one though bud, always nice to have a faster finisher in your arsenal.

I think a lot of ppl don't account for all the stress the plant gets hit with. We don't know everything about every strain, so it could be pinching leaves, or topping, even environmental conditions can not be optimal for the specific strain.. so growth slows, and an 8 weeker turns into a 10 weeker.

Other than that.. I also believe chop time is all preference. Breeder may label the flowering time to their personal standards for all we know.
Dude, I've always wondered but you rarely see topped or trained plants in breeders pictures. You usually see a plant with a huge main cola being way taller than the rest of the buds. Go to fastbuds website and you can see that 9/10 pictures are like this. Why not train the plants? Maybe they do it for faster harvest but still, not even LST?Screenshot_20210204-202050_Chrome.jpgScreenshot_20210204-202055_Chrome.jpgScreenshot_20210204-202059_Chrome.jpg

Funny thing to me is none of those plants look ready to harvest.

I understand what you're saying. I don't even smoke that much. I will wait if I have to wait and I have never chopped early, never will. But growing an auto that's supposedly can be chopped around day 75 but in reality takes 100 fucking days, that's just ridiculous.
Yeah they really stretch the limits of reality with some of the seed to harvest times many state for their auto's.

That's very fast. Congrats! Again, not in a hurry so I just have to be patient when I will grow my first photos.
I've been selecting the fastest flowering plants to breed with for years with the goal of having something that will be done before the cold damp weather hits in the PNW. Outdoors is going to be different than my indoor grow. Growing in a controlled indoor environment where you can switch directly to 12/12 is going to be different than a plant that initiates flowering as the daylight hours decrease outdoors.

Good job. I will also be pheno hunting for sure. Aaahhhh, I still remember growing my first plant when I was 16. It was a photo, grown outdoors under 3-4 hours of direct sunlight. Ended up getting 43 grams after 4 and 1/2 months lmao! I then learned about autos, grew some under the same conditions and got 20 something grams from 3 PLANTS in 3 months lol. I then gave up for many years and started growing indoors(best desicion) since last year but only autos so far.

I buy everything that's advertised as fast, and sativa dominant. Was disappointed by a half dozen breeds.

Skittles, lemon amnesia, sugar candy.... I let them have 52-55 days.

I have smoked enough downer weed to last a lifetime. I want speedy, but without panic attacks at walgreens.... A fine line...

I've been smoking street weed(no idea of strain) my whole life and very rarely got that speedy high you're referring. They only strains I've smoked are Amnesia Haze, northern lights auto(white label), og kush auto(dinafem), cream mandarine xxl(sweet seeds) and currently growing gorilla glue auto and tangerine dream auto from Barney's. I still remember smoking the Amnesia Haze in a park around 2011 and ended up RUNNING home. It was amazing! Speedy, euphoric but without paranoia. Unfortunately, most of the time I smoke weed now I just get couchlocked(not always a bad thing), hungry and have some paranoid thoughts. Maybe because I grew older and think differently don't know.

By the way, Sativas take way longer to harvest. If you want faster harvests, I would lean towards indicas but honestly long seed to harvest period is something I don't care/mind. But lies to people from breeders disgust me.

Lemon amnesia has a super high plateau. If I smoke a fat blunt or two minis, the room spins.
sugar candy is my favorite ever. Period. Body high with clear sativa uplift!

"cream mandarine F1 fast" disappointed me though. whispy as fuck! Looked like it was grown by a teenager!

Most “ breeders “ will hype quick times as marketing crap or they have worked that strain “ in house “ under controlled conditions.

It is pretty much fact , that seeds run by you and another will differ - your grow environment / skill / medium , etc.
Always take a projected harvest time with a grain of salt .... they will take as long as it takes. Plants never really follow a growers weekly calendar .
Same with feeding schedules. Based first on hydroponics for the 3-part systems and next on being grown under climate controlled conditions by expert growers. Everything from seed to medium to nutes maximized.

Pretty well all websites photos look like that. Makes you wonder if they are chopping them early.

picking with mostly cloudy/no amber was/is perpetuated by the Europeans and Dutch who unlike most Americans do NOT want any couchlock. they prefer the daytime buzz with a coffee as is the norm in the Netherlands to be social and buzzing about the town. different society different needs. Americans haven't had legalization as long or culturally accepted people "stoned" in public.
Americans tend to be more attracted to the couch lock , face melt shit

Many of the websites use the same photos as well. Especially those that have popped up in recent years that should be avoided. It's likely many are just copying pictures and selling the same seeds as different strains.

The cannabis industry is as unscrupulous as any if not the most. Used car salesman are more trustworthy than much of what goes on in the cannabis world.
