Temp is 74 RH is 46. It’s in week 9 now and trichs are still clear. This is a diesel plant. My others are white rhino and they seem to be fine. I wasn’t sure if it was on account of being a different strain. Here’s my other plant almost ready to harvest. What are your temps because those plants look roasted ?
That’s what I ended up doing, I’ll just see how it goes. I’m close to harvest. I was working in the room the other day and I shut the fans off and accidentally left them off for about a day and a half. And that’s when this kicked in. It’s just on the top. Everything else looks good (so far anyway). You may get a few different answers here.
What I have done, is exactly what you want to do.
It did keep the rot from spreading, but the cola never really developed further.
Whatever you decide (take the whole thing or part) definitely cut out the rot.
Thank you so much for the recommendation. I’m on it. They’re so close to harvest.Cut off the effected area and then some. After that treat the rest of the plant(s) with potassium bicarbonate (2 tsp per gallon) 4pints 70% isopropyl alcohol and 4pints water. And yes you can spray it during flowering.
Good luck friend!
The rot was down to the stem and definitely wet, gray, and spongy. And the tip of cola where the gap is, is where the bud pulled away really easy. I apologize for posting it with the lights on.I also cannot see the rot in those pictures. Please post pictures with white light instead of the hps. It does look like you are running too hot and at humidity levels that are too low.
Yeah I was an idiot and light/heat stressed them last month resulting in the foxtails. Rookie mistake. I’ve since dialed my lights back quite a bit. The stem was definitely gray and spongy. It was just the top so I cut down below the rot by a bit and it all looks fine. (Fingers crossed). The bud is super dense.Take a look at the stem inside the bud structure.. if it’s fuzzy or white fuzz then chop it. I’ve had that happen before and it didn’t spread bc I caught it early and cut it off. Your looks like fox tailing , can’t really tell if it’s rot.. gl and look at the stem inside the buds
Yeah it was definitely rot. I chopped a good part of the bud off. It was my biggest cola on the plant. It’s probably for another week to ripen, didn’t want to cut the whole thing because the trichomes are still clear. The remaining bud is super healthy and dense as can be.Just get it out of there before it spreads! I would run a dehumidifier at full blast 24/7 and probably use a tank sprayer to bleach the whole house!
When I see sugar leaves starting to rotate, I bet it's bud rot.you can see surrounding the area, they did a 90°, dead center they are upside down.
Should’ve clarified. The 180 leaf Is just one that had fallen off when I dug into the top of the bud to check the stem, but you are spot on. The top was dead. I cut it a bit below the rot and the rest of the bud looks super healthy. Gonna do some spraying to kill any potential spores. I was careful and surgical in my removal so I hope that’s the end of it.This is my guess, hard to tell but I used to struggle with it on gigantic northern lights- grape ape colas. If it is bud rot, cut the whole cola off!!! Spray bleach in there, anything!
Buy a dehumidifier! That cola is probably under 7g dry. Not worth killing the rest!View attachment 4817200
Just my .02.
Absolutely. I’ve gone over every one with my microscope and I disinfect with fingers worn alcohol after touching each one. They all look fine. The moral of the story for me is, don’t screw around and leave my fan off for a day and a half.I would take a hard look at ALL TOPS
