First time grower please give me some tips...
I have: 400w HPS, 2 plastic pots (8 liter), Great Soil Mix, Water Fertilizer.

Really need some help to properly germinate my fem seeds and how to care for sapplings. I'm also really confused about the amount of water to give freshly germinated seedlings.

Sorry I'm a real newbie and I want my first crop to be a success. BTW its a closet grow...

Thanks! :weed:

Soak the seeds in a glass of water for 24 hrs. No matter what they look like plant them 1/4 to 1/2 inch below the soil. Put some saran rap or a baggie over the pots until they sprout. Ya should not have to water them until they sprout. Make sure the soil is moist when ya plant them.
Read the faqs a few times. Thats the best tip i can give ya at this point.

Thanks dirty boy. I just got the seeds in today and well I've been researching this like I'm goin after a degree in botany!
Starting to germinate as soon as the light comes in the mail and have the closet completely set up except for the lamp of course.
The only thing that still troubles me is setting up a good watering and feeding chart so as not to over/under water/feed the plants.
Any tips to care for infant sapplings?

-Will post pictures soon-

Regular planting soil. Thought about adding 10% - 20% perlite but no one here in Sweden understands what the hell I'm talking about when I ask garden shops. The pots hold 8 liters and are 10.5" tall.

You have to add perlite. That is a must. Buy it on line. It weighs nothing so shipping will be cheap. Ya cannot grow with out it!
Perhaps there is aother term for it there.

Quick question.
My seedling pot is only 10cm x 10cm what amount of perlite should I add in to my soil in terms of percentage & does this number apply to any stage of growth?

Thank you

Mix the soil and perlite 50/50% thats the best...that way you will have a great drainage and wont overwater no matter what. Dont feed with anything for first 2 or 3 weeks then start them on 1/4 of a strength that is recommended on your fert., gradually pick the strength up...although I strongly recommend organic feeding since it makes it VERY hard to over fert. your plants. I water every 3 days or so...the older the plants the more you will have to water...although size of your pot matters. One tip about that - let the soil dry out a bit before watering...cannabis roots need oxygen. You can get a moisture meter to make it easier its cheap and easy...I used mine for first growth. Hope this helps! Keep us posted and best of luck!!!

I see that you are using regular planting soil. Check the N-P-K. Make sure that the N is equal to or higher than the P & K.

Cannabis plants like good levels of N and a normal level of P and K during vegetative growth. You need to pick a bag that has all three, not just 10-20-0.

50/50? Ive never heard that high of a concentration of perlite. Everything I've heard and read has been about 10% - 20%.

Also I do have a high Nitrogen concentration soil.

Also if you could tell me what Perlite means in Swedish that might help cause my Svenska is still a bit rough.

50/50 soil and perlite is the best for a firstgrower and I actually mix my soil that way...no way of overwatering and better control with feeding...also roots get oxygen when they need it...my plants love it that way  Tried to look into a dictionary online for you but cant find anything so perlite is white volcanic rock...ha ha...look it up online! Or try vermiculite...that would do it... If you cant get either one of these, you can use sand...dont know much about that just there is a certain kind that you need to use it doesnt hold moisture like perlite or vermiculite but it serves as a great drainage...look it up as well. That should be easier.

haha finally found out what its Perlite is called in Swedish... Perlit
God that "e" was frustrating!

Also just wanted to know how everyone feels about using a 400w HPS for veg growth... Is it going to effect the plant growth? Bud production?

Ya can always throw a mh bulb(same wattage bulb) in your hps. Mh for vegging and then just switch to hps when ya flower.

I decided today to buy a MH bulb so it should come in same time as the HPS. Honestly the only thing I'm worried about now is smell and air circulation because its a closet grow...

It will stink. It will stink bad. Real bad. It will smell like a skunk sprayed or ya have 7 cats and 1 litter box that ya have not dumped in a month. Ya can pump the stinky air out side if possible. Ya will get air flow as well.

Be sure to purchase a fan controller or a fan with a built in controller so that you can adjust the speed of the revolutions & decrease the noise especially if the closet is in your bedroom like mine.
