Condensate pump for auto drainage system

so I’ve built the drainage system recommended on coco for cannabis but now need a shallow pan/condensate pump. The one they recommend on the website is really pricey so I’m after an alternative. Any recommendations? This is the best alternative I’ve found so far, is it any good?

Remember that those pumps pump a very slow rate, they are only designed to keep up with condensate drippage from an AC unit. So if you water a bunch of plants and all that runoff hits the pump at once it will likely overflow.

I think that pump is speced to a max of 4L per minute, so don't exceed that and you should be ok. Also don't let any particulate get in the pump as it will clog.

what amount of water are you dealing with and how high is your drain outlet? Pics help

I would go with a little giant pump if you have the height, but maybe even a better pump if you have the space

I kept pump in a large tray.

I'm reading through your hempy bucket adventures and do you have anything on how you made your buckets, or the links you follow.

sorry to derail the thread but if your looking at this thread you should check out his set up

Here's how I setup my feed/drain system.

Here's a link showing the new buckets I use now with clay pebbles instead of perlite.

For $150 just buy it. If you can't afford that just sit there with a wetvac and do it yourself. If you consider $150 pricey, there is a world of hurt ahead of you in this hobby.
Before you start talking about money I think you need to recognize that different countries sell different products for varying prices depending on where they are sourced from. The ALTERNATIVE pump is $150. The little giant 1 abs pump is $350 with shipping. Big difference isn’t it matey? Plus, who in the fuck wouldn’t want to save $200 if they could lol. It’s just a question asking if a cheaper pump is around that works well. The OP from coco for cannabis is years old so wouldn’t it be likely that there’s now a better pump to use?

point is fuck off unless you have good info lol. I’ve been successfully growing for a while now and know what the costs are thanks bro.

Would it be better to just run these? 4.5L per minute. That is the pump I use for the watering system.46E7FAE7-48E4-4322-92A9-15C4F6566F6B.png

I use these...

80GPH capacity.
Can keep up with 8 plants, DTW/Hempy, floraflex open flow manifold.
Wouldn't try any more than that though.
This is available locally so I might pick this up. Only running 4 plants at a time and I get like 1 gallon of runoff a day so should be perfect

I ran a condensate pump for about a year. 4x DTW hempys. I had it pump into a 5 gal pale that I would dump.
What killed mine was when I shut down for a few months and the stuff in the bottom of the bace dried up abd flaked off. You know. All the old crud in you run off.

it messed with the pump. I never could clean it out. Chucked it out. Haven’t bought a replacement

I gave your cheap ass good advice, wet vac for like $20. Don't be pissy about it as well as a cheap ass. I buy quality, it's cheaper in the long run.
