Starting seeds for outdoors

I use a 16-8 light cycle for girls going outdoors and month before I lower to 15-9 then 14-10 and don't have a problem with preflowering when they should be vegging, sure they turn around if you don't do this but if you want the most vigorous growth this works in my experience. And I have grown one or two plants before,lol.

great advice for higher latitude growers... it happens to so many people here in Mass ... you end up losing any time you gained getting them out early waiting for the reveg ... and they always seem to grow like a weirdo for the rest of the season after a reveg ... you can also gas lantern them for a few weeks when they first go outside to prevent a reveg ... I've never done it before but seen enough people that have to believe it works ... I'm on the fence of whether to wait until early May this year, or go early with the gas lantern tec ... I'll prob try a few both ways

Never heard it called that before, I wait until May 20 to put mine out, gives a month of days getting longer, before the solstice.

yea some say to have the lights come on for an hour in the middle of the night .... but i was thinking of just having them come on prior to dusk for about 90 mins and stay there until the sunset lines up with it about may 20th or so... i went out late april last year, but used the same method you described backing the lights down progressively before putting them outside ... i had one sort of reveg, and always grew weird afterwards, but the others were fine .... I'm in a greenhouse though, and typically have the temps ok by mid april, so I'm trying to take advantage of that .... but if I was outside in the elements I don't think I would bother, i'd just wait

If I had a greenhouse I'd be putting seeds out in March, let them grow from seed under natural light and maybe they wouldn't do that, worth a try with one or two at least.

Hang metal halides in the greenhouse and run them for a while in the evening and morning. Week lights work too. I have even just used the light from our laundry room window to keep them from flowering. But I really like the results I've had using the sun and hid lighting. My plants had 24-18 hrs of light from February until mid June. Worked like a charm. They got so big!

That is my plan for at least 1 plant. I will wait until the overnight temps do not go too low and start a Northern Lights Auto in the greenhouse.
