Quick question

So my plants are in flower mid/early.. all seem to be experiencing nutrient burn, I use maxibloom.. I cut down on the nutrients, instead of 7 grams per gallon I’ve cut down to about 4 and I’ve kept 2ml of cal mag per gallon but my tips still are burnt (new growth) could the 2ml of cal mag be causing the burning ?.. could there be abnormal salt buildup in coco? I was told to feed every time I water but I’ve been speculating should Instead feed in an alternative pattern like.. feed/ph water/feed/ph water ??

You never want to give plain water when using coco or let the coco dry out. Are you feeding to a good 10% runoff with each feeding? What is your PH? Are you using tap water or RO?

Whats the PPM of your mix when using the 7 grams? 4?

Do you own an ec/ppm meter? If not get one and feed @ 1.2 ec, all good until harvest.

Yes atleast 10% run off and I am using tap water

If you are getting 10% runoff you should not have buildup issues. You may be overdoing the Calcium. Your tap water likely has calcium in it and excessive calcium can lock out potassium and magnesium.

You will hear a lot of different opinions on this and like pH it can vary from medium to medium and strain to strain. Age is a factor too, mature plants generally need more feed. I like to be around 1000 - 1200 PPM myself, thats an EC of 2.0 to 2.4. If you start to see burnt leaf tips then reduce the feed strength a little and make sure you haven't built up salts in the medium, easy to prevent if you always water/feed to achieve about 20% runoff thru the bottom, that rinses out excess salts. Checking runoff PPM can tell you if you have buildups, if it comes out stronger than it went in you have a salt buildup and should get more runoff when you feed.

If you get burnt serrations along the side leaf margins from the tip back usually about halfway, not just the end point of the leaf, this is caused by a lack of, or lockout of potassium and is commonly mistaken for tip burn / excess nutes.

I am assuming that PPM is with a 0.5 conversion rate from EC. Thats a little strong meaning the 7 grams was WAY too hot. Whats the straight water PPM? I missed that if you posted it.

BTW - If the PPM is a 0.7 conversion then the PPM of 1400 is the same as 1000 @ 0.5 conversion and is a good strength IMO.

On my meter it read “1384ppm” I’m not sure of the conversions you’re speaking of I need to read some up on that... ppm of regular tap water is “464ppm”
