Led lights rubbish !!

Well after having been a very successful grower many years ago using an old wardrobe ,metal halide for veg and sodium for flower personal use only knocked it all on the head when I moved to Spain and just used the good old sun on our terrace
Moving back to the uk I have delved into the led world , my experience has not been great to be honest. First grow with led was a 4x4 tent using a telos 8 and 2 plants , temp and humidity i think was pretty good , 26 degree c day and 19 night 55% humidity. Outcome veg perfect flower very airy / foxtailing (no light leakages) so after a long thought and advice from local hydro shop binned the telos ,
Purchased 2x maxibrite daylight 300w and did a grow of 4 this time moved back to the old wardrobe method / Mylar lined 6’6 x 6’6 x 2’6
6 inch exhaust same temp and humidity as I use a enviro controller. This time a lot better density but still not quite there but not very smelly yet to try it as it’s still curing but you know when you can just tell especially after over 15 years growing.
has anyone else experienced this with led ?
I’m considering using led for veg and swapping to 600w sodium for flower or should I just go old school with what I know works ?
I was initially trying to keep costs down and heat to a minimum using led however 2 grows and crap bud isn’t really cost effective.
anyone’s advice would be appreciated as I’m keen to get a decent grow out as I’m now unfortunately using for medicinal purposes.
thanks I’m advance. Roadrash.

It all comes down to light distance and intensity , trial and error, you will get there.

Thank you guys appreciate your input well
Here we go again
Distance to the top of the canopy is 12 inches
Forgot to mention I’m growing in soil (personal as I said )and hand watering I personally think this gives better flavour. Using Cana veg and Cana Flores for nutes .
These are the times I really miss the Spanish sun. Thanks again.

Need to post pictures dude.

But in the meantime try this: Turn your extraction right down. Just enough to keep your air running through the filter and the smells from leaking, but low enough that it gets really warm and humid.

Post back what happens

My first grow with proper led, temps are up to 90 and rh 70-80 daytime temp, 70 degrees and 50 rh night though high rh got me worried, I've had no pm problem, and pm is an issue indoor and out where I live. I've never had tighter, frostier buds in all my tries of growing. If not pm, spider mites, root rot kill my grows. I turn off vent fan during light cycle, have 16 inch tied to top of 4x4 so adequate air moving in tent. I'm 6 weeks in to flower and happier than shit with this grow. At light out or hour before i turn vent fan on and flush humidity from tent, hence no pm, this is when it hits as humidity goes high after lights out. About an hour before lights come on I turn vent fan off to allow co2 to raise. 4 different strains, every one is doing well. Think of being in a jungle, hot and humid, if pm is a problem the church from greenhouse seeds is resilient stran so I'm told. Hope this helps. Its unnerving running hight temps after all those years of fighting them.

I think you have really helped there southern Ontario , my circulation fan is very small I bet that’s not helping matters. Just popped a couple of seeds in the prop . I will raise temps and humidity and see how it goes. I’ve been really lucky with my grows never had root rot, pm, or spider mites. Thanks again.

Are foxtails and airy buds common for led lights then ?
I see a lot of pics on ig and see not so great grows so I've been reluctant to switch but yeah it's a bit common. Here's a thread we had on it not long ago. Glad I switched could just be the strain I ran or nutes idk but they were dense af and no foxtails.

Sounds like you are severely lacking in power. Telos 8 is a crappy 240w light, you were trying to light a 4x4 with, but you need double the wattage and better lights. Now you are trying to light a 6.5x6.5 with 600watts, but you need more than double that power for the space.

He's 6.5 x 2.5, if I'm reading his post correctly. Unless his space is 2.5 tall :)

Cool more power humidity and heat it is then.
no wonder I was doing so well in a small wardrobe years ago with a 400w m/h +sodium
Years ago them days didn’t even check temp or humidity just stuck a light up in a white painted wardrobe and an extractor fan must have been real warm and humid.
