NB right on da border.
Jesus you’re in the right spot. You must have had it before and want that same cut? I know there’s R2 , R2 S1 cut and a R2 hybrid cut that’s similar. Hard to get the real cut when you have company’s like Getaway Mountain straight out call there line R2. It’s a bx and should be noted so beside the name. Stuff like that makes it tough to find true genetics. I’m not saying what they sell isn’t good because I know different but I’m not a fan

Yessir I had the Jet Li R2 "The One" back in the 00's before it got all fucked up, absolutely the reason i'm so picky and specific about it.

I’ve ran clones for 5-6 years with no signs of degrading or loss of vigor because they were kept happy and healthy.

I have also had clones that only lasted 3-4 years because I had issues and the plants took damage which caused them to never reach full potential again.

I’m quite confident from what I’ve personally done and seen other long term growers do that clones can be kept indefinitely if they are treated well and kept healthy. If you have poor grow conditions and or get bugs or disease then your genetics will not last as long.

I hear the R2 S1 cut was better than the original. My friend has a cut that I’m pretty sure is the original buying have access to it. I find it too strong for me.

I have a few that are approaching 6 yrs old. I would say as good or better shape then when they were seed runs......and it’s always been a clone of a clone of a clone. I have never kept a mom.
Not sure why they keep those old moms like some do. I like keeping everything healthy and it’s easier to manage small moms

It's the Grail imo, ticked all the boxes and I could still be smoking it to this day. The smell and flavour was really unique, could never describe justly. When you nailed the grow it would make your eyes water like you were cutting an onion. In all those years I seen that happen about a dozen times. Those batches were epic potency. Was really amazing and didn't realize how good I had it. I picked up wonder temple from stray recently, I'm hoping I'll find some memory lane in those packs. High hopes.

Can someone give me a quick rundown how to keep a cut going forever without getting too big?

I have a biscotti clone I paid a nice penny for and I want to keep it. Just take a clone off the mom, flower the mom, let the clone grow, take a clone, flower that precious clone once its too big, forever?
You can plant it in a small pot and keep cutting it back for a very long time. Make sure to top it a lot when it's low because it's a lot easier / safer to prune little branches than hack big bulky stalks.

I didn't see the 2 additional pages of this thread. I'm taking all of the losses today. Carry on.

I think Katsu has a Williams wonder cross. I’m in Atlantic Canada and I had friends who grew it and considered it their grail too.

How do I keep it small but healthy? I have three that rooted so I for sure can keep it going. I have in a tiny pot. Maybe half a solo cup size. I don’t want to neglect it but I don’t want it to be booming growth either. Just “there”. Water and cal mag only maybe?

That's most likely too small, and it will need actual nutrients. I'm not sure what the regular pot equivalent is, but I found a two gallon fabric pot with coco is perfect. You just have to keep cutting it back or it will be hard to keep the medium moist. I'm sure there's an ideal nute regimen for a mother, but I always fed them what my vegging plants were getting once they got beyond the seedling stage. They can take a lot of abuse.

I may have used 3 gallons. I'm not sure, I haven't used pots of any kind for a couple of years. My last mother was in a Grodan Unislab, but I wouldn't recommend that. I would start small, maybe even a one gallon, and transplant it if you need to. You just don't want it too small or too big. I made the mistake of putting my first mothers into 5 gallon pots and they straight beasted out on me. I end up cutting down the rootballs and transplanting them into smaller pots.
