Do we need another trump thread?
I'm exhausted and would be happy to never see or hear him again.
We can finally breath again.
Yes, it's necessary. Trump is going nowhere, yet, and it's necessary to pound into the electorate the crimes against the country he's made. Do it repeatedly, that's what works. Just ask republicans.
Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it. - George Santayana

Confirmation Hearing for President Biden's Nominee for Attorney General Merrick Garland: A Preview

On the eve of his confirmation hearing for Attorney General, Merrick Garland released the opening statement he will deliver at the beginning of tomorrow's hearing.

Judge Garland's announced priorities are a salve for a nation bruised and battered after year's of disregard for the rue of law by former AG Bill Barr and the unabated political corruption of the Trump Administration.

Here is a preview of what to expect at tomorrow's confirmation hearing.

Let's see, Cy Vance has just hired a really scary prosecutor for a pending case, a guy who makes a fortune in private practice, but is Hell on wheels as a prosecutor. Donald just had his last cobweb of a defense get blown through and the grand jury will have Donald's taxes this week. If Donald broke the law (a given), then he and perhaps some of his kids will be indicted and most likely convicted on several serious civil and criminal state crimes.

When the time comes for Florida to extradite Donald on NY state charges, will De Santas intervene? Extradition wouldn't be an issue for federal crimes though.

This is a financial death sentence for Trumpy and perhaps his Inc. . I can't get enough, so, more on this from NPR.

The U.S. Supreme Court, in a one-sentence unsigned order, declined former President Donald Trump's request to further delay the enforcement of a subpoena from the Manhattan district attorney for Trump's financial records. Monday's order paves the way for a New York grand jury to obtain the records and review them.

The high court's decision marks a major setback for Trump, who for years has fought to shield his finances and business practices from scrutiny. It all but clears the way for District Attorney Cyrus Vance to enforce his subpoena for Trump's financial documents.

If NY state busts Trump over the Stormy Daniels affair, the feds can easily nail him for the federal election and related tax charges too.

These are the Trump financial documents that Manhattan District Attorney Vance will get to see
From CNN's Ariane de Vogue and Kara Scannell

Today's Supreme Court ruling means that the grand jury investigation into alleged hush money payments and other issues will no longer be hampered by former President Trump's fight to keep the documents secret.

The documents, however, will be subject to grand jury secrecy rules that restrict their public release.

The subpoenas span documents from January 2011 to August 2019, including Trump's tax returns, from his long time accounting firm, Mazars. The documents relate to the Trump Organization's employment of Trump's former lawyer, Michael Cohen and hush money payment Cohen allegedly made to two woman who claimed to have had extramarital affairs with Trump.

Manhattan District Attorney Cy Vance's office is investigating whether the Trump Organization violated state laws and is looking into the legality of tax deductions, including from conservation easements and consulting fees the company took, as well as what the Trump Organization told lenders and tax authorities about the value of its assets.

Vance's investigation started its investigation in earnest in August 2019, initially looking into the hush-money payments Cohen facilitated to silence two women's claims that they had affairs with Trump. The former President has denied the affairs.

Vance's office has said the records are crucial to the investigation, in part because of the statute of limitations for the potential crimes they are investigating.

Trump lashes out after Supreme Court decision on his financial records
Former President Trump on Monday lashed out after the Supreme Court declined to block the Manhattan district attorney from obtaining his financial records, blasting the probe as politically motivated and pledging to "fight on."

"The Supreme Court never should have let this 'fishing expedition' happen, but they did," Trump said in a statement. "This is something which has never happened to a President before, it is all Democrat-inspired in a totally Democrat location, New York City and State, completely controlled and dominated by a heavily reported enemy of mine, Governor Andrew Cuomo."

Trump described the Manhattan investigation into his financial dealings as a continuation of "the greatest political Witch Hunt in the history of our Country," referring broadly to repeated investigations into his alleged wrongdoing.

"I will fight on, just as I have, for the last five years (even before I was successfully elected), despite all of the election crimes that were committed against me," Trump added. "We will win!"

"That’s fascism, not justice—and that is exactly what they are trying to do with respect to me, except that the people of our Country won’t stand for it," Trump said in the statement.

Awww.... ...donny is a little upset.

Supreme Court Orders Trump Taxes Released to NY Prosecutor; Merrick Garland's Confirmation Hearing

Today was a good day for justice in America:
1. The Supreme Court FINALLY ruled that former President Donald Trump's taxes and financial records must be giving to NY District Attorney Cy Vance;
2. The Supreme Court refuses to hear the Republican challenge to the Pennsylvania election results; and
3. Attorney General nominee Merrick Garland gives senators a masterclass in justice, fairness and equality during his confirmation hearing before the Senate Judiciary committee.

Worst part is that if Trump goes to jail, people will literally be murdered over it.

His Jim Jones/Charles Manson power over the tofu brains out there is too strong for anything less.
