It sucks that older awesome strains seem to just vanish over a decade. Like the skunks and reall cheese strains from the '80s & '90s. Now these New Fruity strains have been all stepped on, watered down versions of the original.
Sativas take a lot longer to harvest than indica’s which is why you don’t see a lot of them in stores. Which is exactly my point. Also I am noticing it’s getting harder to get pure sativa’s... which is bullshit because I bet if it took Phizer 1 year to make a super strength Viagra you wouldn’t see less of it on the shelf, it would just cost more. Why can’t dispensaries see this and just tax pure sativa’s more? Medicine is medicine.
I’ve been to dispensaries from coast to coast and buy top shelf, mid shelf. 20 years. I’m saying the quality and variety is slowly becoming less on the big scale. I’ve seen the best and have it currently.

Sour Diesel will never be the same as it used to be. It has been ‘dudded out’ due to overbreeding. I saw a cool mini documentary about the history of sour d narrated by someone who was close to the original breeder in NY. There is a good possibility that the sour d of today has nothing in common with the original

No Kidding man. Back in high school in the early nineties. We had 2 kill strains from our click of friends. It was either the skunk ya had to triple bag so your parents didn't smell it. Agreed, what will be the next "strain" to get the treatment? I've been loading up on landrace varieties lately. I seriously pheno hunt, always, When a pheno that really rocks shows up, she can be bred back to a stabilized strain. My mission in life is to be involved in the creation of a strain well respected. I've made some mind blowin' beans but, until now, I have not had the time to stabilize. When I get a winner, I share. be nice
Do you know the name of the doc? I grew sour diesel and NYC diesel for about 5 years, 10 years ago. I wish I kept them. I was in Los Angeles, they were true genetics. If you fed them too much or had any light leaks they would hermie. Every grower I knew hated it, I was the only one who loved the strain and figured out how to work it. This is the type of strain this post is about. Most people give in, and commercial grows won’t touch it.

Out here in the Bay Area, a bunch of classic strains are making a huge comeback in the grey/black market. Bubba, OG, GDP, WW, GG4 etc. The genetics really aren’t that hard to get if you know the right folks.
