I noticed the same with my plants. This is speculation but I imagine this has to do with it it losing more water to transpiration (evaporation through the leaves) during the daylight hours when it's warmer than it can take up, causing it to droop. At night, when it isn't losing so much water, osmosis outweighs the loss causing the leaves to become turgid. As I said speculation; an educated guess at best. Perhaps this is why plants often do better under 18/6 rather than 24/0.what cause plant leaves to reach toward the light,,, i will try to post pictures later , but it seemed like overnight my plant leaves went from relaxed healthy droop, to reaching straight up like they are reachin for the light... anybody have a clue as to why?????
600 watt hps sylvania growlux 15 inches from plant...they are reaching for the light because you aren't giving them enough light.
yeah it aircooledyeah, that is plenty of light. Is your light air cooled?
oohhhh no we are not going crazy with anything at the moment.. they are doing well and this just popped up so when i change my rez it will probably go away...these plants are eating it up so i wouldnt doubt the have used it all..i am deffinately not going to jump at this thing to aggresivly.. thanks for the in put curious...with mag deff is there a chang in the color of the leaf cause they are nice and green now..After seeing the pictures I'd like to change my mind. I'm not expert diagnostician but that looks like a magnesium deficiency to me. Get a second opinion though before you go crazy with the eposm salts.
"This is speculation but I imagine this has to do with it it losing more water" sorry guy but your speculation is very misleading... when you water a plant the vacuole inside every cell fills with water causing the plant to look "sturdy" or "up-right" or just generally healthy. so when the dude who started this thread stated he saw a "healthy droop" he was already down the wrong path because it will droop when it is lacking water (osmosis: water moving from high concentrations to low). also to the person who started this thread; Im gon guess you are using a cfl or a low wattage/lumen light with out any sort of reflector. your plant is stretching toward the light because it is uncontent with the amount of light it can absorb at its current height and is doing its best to fill its "need for light." a light too far away can also cause your plant to ilongate and become less full or bushy and get skinnier and long. so if your stoned and you alrady forgot that, your light may be too weak, may be too far away, you may not be using reflectors, or re-read the water portion.I noticed the same with my plants. i am sorry but i beg to differ if you have been around alot of different strains alot of the indica varieties when they are nice an healthy kinda sit heavy and the leaves just kind hang, maybe droop is a bad choice of words..."This is speculation but I imagine this has to do with it it losing more water" sorry guy but your speculation is very misleading... when you water a plant the vacuole inside every cell fills with water causing the plant to look "sturdy" or "up-right" or just generally healthy. so when the dude who started this thread stated he saw a "healthy droop" he was already down the wrong path because it will droop when it is lacking water (osmosis: water moving from high concentrations to low). also to the person who started this thread; Im gon guess you are using a cfl or a low wattage/lumen light with out any sort of reflector. your plant is stretching toward the light because it is uncontent with the amount of light it can absorb at its current height and is doing its best to fill its "need for light." a light too far away can also cause your plant to ilongate and become less full or bushy and get skinnier and long. so if your stoned and you alrady forgot that, your light may be too weak, may be too far away, you may not be using reflectors, or re-read the water portion.
i know my cred hear is low because i dont respond to 100's of threads but this is credable info. i have much college level biology and plant biology class, and first-hand expirience.
you've gotten the wrong idea from my message. i criticize anyone who talks shit via Internet which is why i wanted to apologize. the last thing i was trying to do was belittle you or someone elses hypothesis. i was simply rejecting it and giving my own input. my apologies for not reading further down to see what your using for your grow, im nice and stoned (like plenty the ppl here) right now and didnt bother reading anything but your original thread. again my apologies for sounding like a duche bag in my first response. i try to offer quality help not try an make other ppl feel like idiots over the internet.i am sorry but i beg to differ if you have been around alot of different strains alot of the indica varieties when they are nice an healthy kinda sit heavy and the leaves just kind hang, maybe droop is a bad choice of words...
the point being this guy was trying to help had a honest hypothesis given the data recieved and tryed to help out a fellow struggler..
since you have all that fancy learnin maybe you should have looked at the few post under the one you jumped and you would see i am using a 600 watt so your powers of deduction are shit good day,,,
i am unsubscibing to my own thread and i suggest all others do the same .. thanks pal go to school on class
