Hey all, I am planning a new op. please check my electric use to the "t" because I am cutting it extremely close!! Also, I dont know how much electric the light movers use so if someone knows speak up.

Thanks for the help. I am trying to keep it safe so please call it out on any problems, there is a lot of equipment and I dont want to fry any bulbs when I plug everything in or burn anything down.

Oh sorry, that didnt come out as organized as I had it.. The first number is the number of actual watts used and the second is amps. And under the outlets the total amperage used is listed on the side of the equipment

From what you've got so far, everything will be just fine. A breaker is actually made to hold 90 % of it's listed load before it "pops". Each 15 amp circuit will hold a load of 13.5 peak amps before it gets tripped.

I don't have any idea about how much power the light movers use so I can't help you there. Try and find out on some website or contact the company.
Chances are you should put the light movers on the 20 amp circuit since you still have 7 amps on that circuit.

are those 3 - 15 amp plugs in the same room on the same circuit??? If so you have a big problem. Usually all plugs in same room run on the same breaker. I am running 5 - 400 watts lamps,3 res pump, 3 air pumps 5 fans in a sixty bucket hydo system in an upstairs bedroom and have to run a 10-2 exten cord from another household circuit to a power board as suppliment to the circuit already in the room...just my 2 cents

Thanks all for the help. 5 watts for light movers? wonderful. And I left the 20 amp circuit open because I think I may need a huge a/c come summer time. It is hot where I live. And I know it is going to cost a pretty penny for all the elec, got to pay so I keep the elec company happy but hopefully itll be worth it in the end :)

Also,
The reason I have the outlests I do.
1 existing 20 amp outlet
1 existing 15 amp outlet

1 3 - prong dryer outlet

I want to convert the dryer plug. I have read about installing a subpanel off of it that woud have 2 15amps using a jumper. Now I have found a plug converter for carpet cleaners RH- 220 to 110 Volt CONVERTER. Instant 20 amp 110V power when you need it. this says it willl give me 2 20 amp outlets!! Excellent, more power and I'm not electrician! :) Is it safe to use however?

id go 4 x 15amp outlets. that way you would have an outlet for each light with a fan & mover and an extra outlet for your accessories(cloner, air pumps. ect....) A little extra goes a long way in safety.

I'm not sure what you mean. I already have a 20 amp and 15 amp in the room. My dryer plug is there and I can either make it 2 more 15 amps with a subpanel, or 2 20 amps with the converter in the link.

If safety is the concern, split it in the service panel. 20 amp breakers are less than $5.00 ea for most panels, run 12-2 wire and buy the better 20 amp receptacles, they make them for back wiring when you use them instead of the 15 amp. An alternative would be to buy two of your ballast 220v and use the dryer circuit for both of those ballasts. Then all you would need is a short piece, I think you could get away with 10-3, and a receptacle for the second light to plug into. VV:blsmoke:

Alright all thanks for your help.

This is my situation. I need a vote of confidence on this product - http://refreshyourhome.com/new-steamer-windows/220-110V-CONVERTER.html - and my old house's wiring.

My breaker box is nearly impossible to access. The wires in my very small/short attic, go to the breaker box in the wall so far back that I cant get to them. Before they go into the box - most of them connect in some short of juncture box. Not only would I have to trample these boxes trying to get to feed to the box, i would be stabbed by many rusty nails in the back...

I have a dryer that I do not use, it is on a 30amp breaker. If this product works I can get an additional 40 amp of of it. I would also tap another room's circuit at a more acessible spot in that attic for the additional 20amps I need in my room.

Additionally - the wires from the 30amp dryer breaker seem different than the wires at the cord? I am wondering if they connect at one of the junction boxes in the attic - is this a concern?

So my options are:
1 - The plan described above
2- Cut a hole in the ceiling/wall to gain access to the breaker area.
3- Hire an electrician to do the work and charge me out the butt for both the hard work and to keep his mouth shut.
4- Something I haven't thought of.....
