Im sorry Virginia

As for Virginia...

It looks like a 4 plant limit for home cultivation with 2 mature plants and 2 immature plants. I'm interpreting that as meaning 2 in flower and 2 in veg at any given time. Some states that have legalized recreational don't allow home cultivation. Any decent grower can keep themselves supplied with that limit.

§ 4.1-1101. Home cultivation of marijuana for personal use; penalties.
A. A person 21 years of age or older may cultivate up to two mature marijuana plants and two immature
marijuana plants for personal use at their place of residence; however, at no point shall a household contain
more than two mature marijuana plants and two immature marijuana plants. For purposes of this section, a
"household" means those individuals, whether related or not, who live in the same house or other place of
residence.
A person may only cultivate marijuana plants pursuant to this section at such person's main place of
residence.
B. A person who cultivates marijuana for personal use pursuant to this section shall:
1. Ensure that the marijuana is not visible from a public way without the use of aircraft, binoculars, or
other optical aids;
2. Take precautions to prevent unauthorized access by persons younger than 21 years of age; and
3. Attach to each mature marijuana plant and immature marijuana plant a legible tag that includes the
person's name, driver's license or identification number, and a notation that the marijuana plant is being grown
for personal use as authorized under this section.
C. A person shall not manufacture marijuana concentrate from home-cultivated marijuana. The owner of
a property or parcel or tract of land may not intentionally or knowingly allow another person to manufacture
marijuana concentrate from home-cultivated marijuana within or on that property or land.
D. The following penalties or punishments shall be imposed on any person convicted of a violation of this
section:
SB1406S1 157 of 263
1. For possession of more than two mature marijuana plants and two immature marijuana plants but no
more than 10 total marijuana plants, (i) a civil penalty of $250 for a first offense, (ii) a Class 3 misdemeanor
for a second offense, and (iii) a Class 2 misdemeanor for a third and any subsequent offense;
2. For possession of more than 10 but no more than 49 marijuana plants, a Class 1 misdemeanor;
3. For possession of more than 49 but no more than 100 marijuana plants, a Class 6 felony; and
4. For possession of more than 100 marijuana plants, a felony punishable by a term of imprisonment of not
less than one year nor more than 10 years and a fine of not more than $250,000, or both.

I would just keep under the 10 plant threshold. You kind of get a freebie only getting hit with a $250 fine for violating your first time.

Sheesh. $80-$120 a zip here on the street. My buddy's coworker grows mediocre outdoor here and mails it back home to family in Michigan. He gets $100/zip for UNTRIMMED bud. He literally plants 6 plants every season and waters them, no ferts other then what's in the soil. Come harvest time all he does is chop the plants and dries them. Sends back a few zips a month for an extra $500 a month. Easiest side hustle ever. As far as I know weed is legal out there but they go thru all that trouble for "Cali Weed" even though its straight low effort mids.
LOL, ok

It is legal here and we've had medical for a long time before that. I can't imagine anyone here wanting moldy outdoor "Cali bud", there's so much fire weed in Michigan already. If you can find the right connects, it's $75-100 a zipper. That's a fact

Complete bullshit!!

Law enforcement is ignoring home-growing, even by non-patients. I've seen them say that anything under 100 plants is legal.

It's past time for you to start paying attention.

The county I live in up here in the North State, word is they are only rolling up on outdoor grows with 500+ plants.
If someone snitches though, code enforcement officer HAS to check it out. So that sucks. One neighbor that doesn’t like you can bring it all down :-(

Check out the Cali rules, they’re freakin odd. You can keep everything you grow off your six plants, you can have up to an lb of shit you got elsewhere, you can gift up to an oz at a time, but you can only have an oz on your person.
You mean in public right? I'm in Illinois. We have 5 plant count and can grow and store as much as we can on 5 plants, but can only buy 2.5 ounces every 2 weeks with medical card.

People often forget just how far behind the south, and most red states for that matter, are from California and Colorado.

Last year if you were caught with an ounce in Virginia you could do a year in jail.

Two years ago in Georgia you could be charged with possession with intent to distribute if you got caught with an ounce even if it wasn't individually packaged.

Red states are being dragged slowly into the 21st century and they're fighting it every step of the way.

We need to stop being so cynical about it and see these things as the really huge victories they are.

An ounce and up to 4 plants for personal cultivation!
You are probably going to get legal weed, but not for 3 years and then can only possess an oz? That is rough. Hopefully something changes before 2024.

I haven't seen anything about whether or not growing for personal use will be included.

Under the Senate bill, passed Friday afternoon, simple possession would be legal starting in July, but retail sales would not start until 2024.

At the moment there are only four medical dispensaries in the entire state. So, for now, I guess they make bank and the black market thrives.

We (Colorado) have the rule of being able to possess as much as you want in your home, but only being allowed to travel with an oz. Not a big deal in my view. You are limited to buying a zip a day, or some equivalent of concentrates. Never really thought of the super rural folks, good point there, though I can't help but wonder why you don't just stick a bunch of plants somewhere in that rural environment.

I'm all for anything that keeps people out of jail. That fear of coming upon a dui checkpoint and realizing you have a couple of grams in your pocket and might be off to jail is something nobody should have to deal with. Laws might not be perfect, but its better than that.

Edit: our rec plant count laws seem generous compared to most, but nobody really follows that. Nobody is checking basements unless it's an obvious large scale op. A few lights is fine. A full house that you can smell in the whole neighborhood and a shitload of foot traffic is a surefire way get a visit.

Are you sure we're allowed as much as we want in our house? Do you have a link? That would be good news.

No. That can't be right. I didn't think so. Darn.

It was something I saw about being able to possess as much as you want at the place of production. Makes sense, if you could only possess an ounce that would pretty much invalidate rec growing, kind of hard to keep it at just a zip.

Edit: it's westword...so take with a grain of salt. https://www.westword.com/marijuana/colorados-weed-possession-limit-is-one-ounce-so-how-are-home-grows-legal-11546463

I really did think it would be spelled out somewhere. Doesn't seem to be though. I do give credence to norml over westword, but it does put all homegrowers in a tough spot and doesn't make sense.

I just had to search for half an hour to find this as its been bugging me since reading this thread.

I couldn't find this info on Gov. of Canada website or Gov. of Alberta website... they all only say 4 plants, 30 grams in public.

Here is the numbers for Canada, apparently.

It doesn’t make any sense but they literally buy from him once a month, if not more. Not sure how I can prove it without incriminating everyone involved but I’m not making it up.

dunno why you and other keep calling california weed moldy though. Plenty of us out here know how to grow weed without mold.
