Time for a little update on the new HugleKulture bed. Temp came in at a cool 77 degrees tonight. Once I mixed it up it came down to 75. ambient room temp is 73. So I think we should be good to get going in that. I Have sowed in clover around the outside edge of the pot and in a T configuration leaving the spots where I will xplant free of seed. Now that the weather is beautiful I plan on getting some nice rocks to get on these beds.
A couple of mycellium shots before I mixed the top up. I got one more round of the Gorilla Cookies I want to do. Let me compare this grow to the one im about to harvest. See where the soil is at.

Moisture. This is everything. Now everyone does it differently I have used this one for years. I always measure in 3 spots in my out door bed so we will do the same in here. First on is the middle between 3 plants.

Second will be a few inches off the side of the plant. As yo can see moisture is down but still in the green zone.

Finally our last spot will be close to the edge of the pot. Here its very moist still. Proly not much root action there. if that ever gets into the dry area you need to water with Yucca. At this point you proly have a lot of dry soil that has gone Hydrophobic. So this edge test is important.

And of course a canopy shot. New lights will be here on Monday! We got about 25 days of Bloom left. So those came just in time to finish these off. After this We will be doing a run of C99 or the WWxBB. Ill have to let the wife decide.

Looking good brother! That wood that you sourced looks perfect. Adding the greens to that layer is crucial, I’m glad to see you were on it.
That grassroots living soil bed is great! I’ve been trying to order 3 of the 4x8 beds and they are all sold out and back ordered till May! Living soil grows must be getting popular, people are figuring out that it’s the end all for great tasting cannabis!

I heard they were back ordered and the black ones on amazon are not tall enough at 12 inches.

Not just great taste but cheaper start up cost less hand on maintenance. I mean im not into this like some of the organic guys are (respect im just a cheap lazy stoner that believes in KISS). I top dress with craft blend. I water it. No teas, enzymes, kashi, microbes, barley, SST ect... I use aloe that I grow. And I mulch. Watering is on a timer. I like to look at it. Once a week. I have actually been more hands on with it here in the last few months while I reset everything and take pics and do this journal.

I'm thinking about putting this bed guide into its own thread in organics. There's not much out there about this indoors. I feel like there almost needs to be a disclaimer though. ''Dont go over a yard of soil." There's that chance it could go thermal.

So sick! I'm literally a few miles back on the same road as you...KISS is the only thing that makes sense to me when it comes to growing...and it doesn't get any easier than water when they need it. Hugelkulture is a new term for me and I'm stoked to take a deep dive into this reading. Thanks for the inspiration bud!

On Bloom side of things we are 37 days in and buds are starting to plump. New LED lights have been shipped. They should get here with a good 25 days left on these. Theyre stronger lights then the SF and 2 cheapies.
Soil is staying hydrated. have been a 48 hour water hold on them to let the mulch dry out a bit. Currently watering for 2 min every 6 hours. Im thinking of changing it to 15 min every 48 hours. Well see how it looks when they're off the hold.
