I had never thought of the collector value of Hot Wheels.
Shocked animated emoticon

Other extremely rare and desirable Redline-era Hot Wheels cars are the rear-loading Volkswagen Beach Bomb with surfboards poking out the back (also considered a prototype) The prototype rear-loading Beach Bomb can earn $100,000 or more.

and the Olds 442. Mint examples of the Hot Wheels Olds 442 model in the most desirable colors can fetch five figures.
The Rarest!
OLDS 442
Probably the most desirable and rarest of the regular production cars is the OLDS 442.

What makes some of this casting extremely rare are a few of the colors that it was released in. This casting had a very brief run in the stores prior to it being pulled by Mattel for legal reasons. The OLDS 442 is rare period, but especially rare in Purple, Lite Blue, Hot Pink, and Lite Green. There is also an extremely rare OLDS 442 prototype that was produced in Red with a Black Interior.
Even the collectors buttons (Plastic & Metal) that came with the car back in the day are going for $100+ each on any given day. The “STAR”sticker Sheets that also came with the car are now fetching over $300 a piece. Needless to say, this is
I'm very familiar with the Rear Loaders and the 442's. I had a few regular Redline Beach Bombs sealed in the original cards that were only a few hundred dollars a piece. Had my eye on Redline 442's constantly everyday for years just never got around to buying any. They are awesome bigtime!
The Rear Loader Bruce owns was displayed at the Peterson Automotive Museum in Los Angeles years ago not sure if it still there. I was always talking with Bruce back and forth from time to time for years but the last we spoke was about
5 years ago. Sid Belzberg also owns one of the Rear Loaders obtaining it a few years after Bruce got his. They ran around $75,000 a piece.
Awesome post lokie! Awesome to know your interest in them as well!

Insane the things we destroyed as kids. The Space Oddessy Eagle I tried to fly with Este's rocket motors. Or the original Star Wars figures we fought with pellet guns.

Yet here is the toy to me that helped truly make me. Over 40's old, needs some TLC, but I have it still. And a fun switch blade lighter from the 80's. Still illegal here.

TY to all. I feel old. Carved sticks and steam until Erector and the ultimate, LEGOS. LOL. 013.jpg014.jpg016.jpg

Ya... kinda sick when I think about it. Those are some valuable toys if it’s the old ones. N the old ones all were very realistic. Everything on the truck and equipment worked.

Lucked my way into a small HESS collection a few years back. Had no idea what it was n gave em to my son.... needless to say. Dead
As nice as the potential may have been? The kids happiness prevails. 2 floor to ceiling room length shelving units full of toys on display. The money I watched play smash up. Made the boy's moment. Paid in full. GRRR! Love it.

Same here. He destroyed my spawn collection.. 27 different figures and two vehicles. He had em for two years n got bored. And it was worth it for sure. I got a race cart waiting for him to be big enough to tear up too. And I can’t wait. Lol

If detroit I have a nice childs full face for local pickup. Keep em safe. 3.5 hour round trip for you. My boy and the 90cc quad at 4. Flipped in a rut at 50 or so. Broke his arm. Mom made us give it away.

Agreed. He has body gear n all. He’s more worried than me. Lol.
Long time cart fanatic. Alcohol 250cc shifter when I quit. Safest wheeled sport. But an oddity on occasion. Always gear low enough to break traction in the fastest corner and train on a wet track. My good wasn't good enough. But I know go fast sideways. And learn to keep pressure on the gas while using brakes. Higher Rpm exiting corners. LOl.

Ya people are nuts in the downtown area for sure.
I was holding up traffic at 90 in a box truck. LMAO! Chi town and Detroit are just insane for the speeds in that congestion.

Need to get downstairs. Have die cast of these and few hundred other worthy pics.
