Hey ya'll

We've officially started our third grow, and boy did we make some upgrades..where to start?

Container: We scrapped the plastic pots and went with some nice 5 gallon shorty fabric pots from 24/7
Medium: We've switched to Promix HP and added some 4-4-4 Dr. Earth and 1/2 cuft EWC from BaS (1/2 in soil, 1/2 top dressed).
Lights: We ditched the custom 28 LED Floodlight setup and got 2x Mars Hydro TSL 2000
Seeds: We've got 2x Bruce Banner, 3x Skywalker OG, 3x Black Widow Feminized Photoperiods from ILGM. 1 Skywalker and 1 Black Widow will be surrogates for more seeds
Space: Instead of the 10x3x4 disaster, we went ahead and made an enclosed grow space 5x5x4
Ventilation: We've got two oscillating 8in fans that I will probably be replacing with 6in as these are too powerful. We also have on the way a Vortex VTX 600L. We will throw on a CAN filter when the time comes.
Nutes: We've got some 4-10-3 Root growth nuts, 10-3-6 veg nutes, Lotus Bloom for flower, Cal Mag, and will end up getting some form of late stage nutes we haven't decided on yet
Training: We have identified that mainlining will be our choice of training this grow. We will be following Nebula's guide and we'll throw in 2-3 trellis nets to form a scrog
Misc: We went ahead an bought 5 million nematode SF to add to our EWC top dress, mosquito bit, sticky trap methods to eliminated our previous gnat problems.
Goal: To grow 6 plants, each with 16 colas, with a total height of 22-24 inches and a horizontal space of 2x1.5ft. We would like a minimum of 10g per stalk

Here we are at what I call: DAY 1

Looking nice a healthy man. Next time try to pin down those manifolds a little bit more to space out the stalks. I would start trying to train those stalks away from eachother, going to get extra crowded in there. Super healthy lookin girlies though, kudos! I'd ditch the large fan leaves near the manifold but thats just me

Yes I have not done well at the tie down at all. And those large fans have just been there as I have been topping to make sure there is some chlorophyll production. They will be gone soon for sure!

Hell yea brother! are you scrogging or just individual plants? If individual I would highly recommend buying some tomato cages and cutting them down. Remember when you flip they will double in size.

As soon as my last run is done drying (hopefully no later then Wednesday next week) these will be moved into earthboxes (about 15 gallons of soil) and then heavy duty tomato cages added. Going to use these cxb3590 arrays until I get another. And to flower they go!

Yeah watching them bounce back after topping each time is pretty crazy. I kind of want to install a time lapse camera so I can watch them move after they are trained down lol

I'm in soil so I think my growth is a bit slower then DWC, but I can still see the difference after just a day! Do you normally yield the 6 to 8 oz per plant as the original mainline thread talks about?

Depends on the veg time. That’s pretty much in the yield field. I got a little over a pound off 2 Gelato OG. If I’d had a bigger tent I think I could have gotten more. Square feet and not height. I don’t trim lower branches until I’m ready to flower. Even then I might wait until after stretch. Some strains have stronger lower branching and if they can reach light they can produce. If it’s going to be popcorn to heck with it. But if it’s a thumb size bud it’s going to weigh.

Day 18

We have been struggling with environment in the new space, had some really low temp drops when our space heater died on us.

Ended up losing 1 Skywalker, 1 Black Widow, and 1 Bruce Banner. Luckily we had 1 spare Skywalker and 1 spare Black Widow from germination and quickly germed another Bruce. Plants were stunted a little but seem to be taking off now that we have corrected the temperature and humidity issues.

The two plastic pot plants you see are strains from a previous run that will be surrogates for some fem'd seeds.

Day 25

We've got our environment problems figured out. Added a second round of nematodes to prevent gnats. They've been getting 10-4-6 On/off on 18/6.

Really happy with the results thus far. The one mutated plant grew out of it's mutation which is a huge sigh of relief. These will probably be getting their topping next week to begin the mainlining process. I've staked down the fan leaves of the nodes I am going to be manifolding to make it easier to get as close to a 90 degree manifold as I can. I am mainlining the 3rd nodes. My buddy decided to rubber band his plants to help the undergrowth of the nodes he wants to mainline.

are the tomato cages better than the net? was using bamboo for a bit but my friends are telling i need to lay the net
