I feel you but I don’t think the light is the problem if anything I had to lift the light because it causing light stress, I believe what I have is a phosphorus issue.bro that light is pulling 83w.
i wouldnt even use that as side lighting.
you need a better light. 100%
if youre looking for cheaper decent leds look up aglex or phlizon. its not what id recommend usually but if youre looking for a decent cheap light then....ya
cheap lights use cheap drivers and cheap leds that dont produce strong enough light in proper spectrum and very low penetration eg par drops out fast. dont beleive a word led companies say like 1000w equivalent.
the numbers generally beside the name of the light are just bs numbers used for model numbers. not wattage equiv.
the light you have is likley the equivalent of a 100w hid. if that.
instead. look up lights that use reputable drivers (meanwell) and good leds. (samsung, bridgelux, epistar,) look for an led that runs at a lower % then what its rated for. eg. a 3watt led running at 3w is running 100% power making the light hotter than it should be and in turn itll burn out fast. look for an led like 10w running at like 6w each.
eg dual leds @10w running 60% power 6w each so 12w per led. instead of your 1led running 100% @ 3w. dig it?
theres alot of misinformation about leds. and many people dont understand the diff between a 1000 dollar led vs a 50 dollar led. trust me. theres a diff.
Your right That’s prolly exactly what the foot print is for this light for 1 plant which is all I need right now. Cmon you think I could’ve gotten it to what it is now if the light was the issue? I do need to upgrade to something tht would cover a larger spread so that I can fit 3-4 3 gallon pots instead of the one 5 gallon pot I’m using. It’s a 24in”x 24”x 36” tent so I’m not working with much space to start but that’s a whole other topic ha. For my first grow ever though if I get anything over an O I’ll be pleased. I am bummed this has happened as I really tried to dial everything in for my grow going organic. But I truly feel the main issue has to do with a lack of micro nutes due to the distilled water ive been using more so then anything but will definitely consider and look into what has been discussed it’s greatly appreciated. I’ve ordered some cal mag and in the mean time will next water with tap water left out for 24 hours in hopes the chlorine could evaporate and I can get some beneficial minerals in the soil for the first time. I’ll update, thank you.if you have a lockout you can add as much nutes as you want and the plant wont be able to uptake it.
youre light is part of the issue.
youre light may be strong close and directly underneath but wont be from a few inches higher and the footprint will be 1x1 tops
youll see in the end
Happy frog is fox farmI’m using 75% fox farm 25% happy frog and some perlite, I’ve been using the earth dust top dressing for food and watering sometimes with molasses mixed in using purified water gallon waters which I’ve tested and has a ph around 6.5 I was thinking maybe it’s because it’s not getting any micro nutrients because of my water but purified water still has some minerals in it i thought.
Yea that’s what I meant oc mixed with happy frog, I noticed all of a sudden my plant kinda stinks and not in a good way, it smells like sewer water and I don’t think it’s the soil. It’s smell like it’s the plant, I’m not sure if it supposed to smell like thatHow long have you been top dressing? OF mixed with HF should last at least a month as far as nutes...if you have been top dressing as well during these last 30 days, then you may need to take a break from the nutes and just do your normal pH'd water with 15-20% run off for the next two or three times.
I get that you mixed the two, that's no big deal, but you also said you have been top dressing with Earth Dust...I am asking how long you have been top dressing with earth dust...because you can cause lockout with all those nutes going in...Yea that’s what I meant oc mixed with happy frog, I noticed all of a sudden my plant kinda stinks and not in a good way, it smells like sewer water and I don’t think it’s the soil. There was a bit of runoff that was soaked back up within the hour. I use a fabric pot, thank you for the feedbackYou don't make up for missed watering by extra watering. A gallon and a half seems like a lot of water....did you leave it sitting in it?
There was a little run off but was soaked back in within 30 minutes I’m using a 5 gallon fabric pot, thx for that I am definitely being more cautious and trying to find the sweet spot as this is organic for the most part until I get this cal mag so I thought I should keep it moist so the microbes stay active.I grew a couple of photo plants, and I killed one of them by just over watering and not making enough drainage holes in the pot it was growing in, and it smelled bad like you're experiencing now.
Try and feel the soil through the drainage holes and smell it to make sure the roots are not rottining.
Also stop giving it any nutes until you resolve the issues.
I've been growing for over seven years and I'm still a noob and trying to learn, but I learn more from my mistakes than reading a book.
Wish you all the best.
You ever check the pH of rainwater?try rain water
I agree with this. Especially if your plant is starting to smell bad. That's usually indicative of rotting roots brought on by being too wet for too long.Looks overwatered. How often?
