4k is making my plants look like crap

You just said you have a box collecting dust of par meters. Why wouldn’t you use one instead of saying it’s the led causing issues?
I don’t believe it’s got anything to do with light intensity but I will rule that out next time. it’s an idea that I can respect, certainly does look like light intensity, but again, never lower than 18 inches and at half strength. I also am not ruling out that it could be a few degrees, I’d be a little shocked but it’s believable. Besides I didn’t say I had a par meter, I said it would make a great addition to the box of tools I don’t use. But in your opinion, why would they green up over night under the T5s?

your 4k must be different than mine cause i veg and flower under it for the last few years.
So what's your guess then? Yellow under the light, greens up within 24 hours under a different light.

edit: my flowering tents with cobs are 600s and the room being set at 72 makes their tents 82-85. The mother tent is smaller with a 400 is at 79 degrees. Could those few degrees really be a make or break?

Have you reached out to the manufacturer yet for advice?

well, you've grown alot so answer me this: is the yellowing lack of N or lack of Mg? doesn't sound like Ca at all to me.

i was a Lucas guy but now i'm on a much more N and less P formula (3-1-4). LUcas just didnt' seem as good ever since i switched to leds

I've still had amazing results with Lucas, didn't skip a beat till this light. And they green right up under different light so I don't feel it's the recipe. I did try to rule it out by using the traditional 123 and Renfo's, same results. Just thought of something else, before I do anything else, I will take the light out of the tent and try it out in the room. I remember like 15 years ago there was a huge problem with tents that were off gassing and somehow somebody figured it out and everybody who had that brand tent had problems. I got some cheap ass Chinese tent, it's a far fetch but I wonder if it could be that.

Just ordered 3 more tents for more flowing space so I can test out the tent idea, also it's getting warmer pretty quick so will be able to see if its 2 or 3 degrees that are killing me.

I've seen photos of Led almost on top of the plants, try that with Samsung leds and they'll bleach fuck out of the plants.

No, I only have 3 flowering tents at the moment and ordered 3 more with 3 more lights because I can grow 24 legally but I'm not sure if I am even going to use them to be honest. The year of COVID and dealing with tenants has worn me out, thinking of retiring and ordered the extra tents and lights in anticipation of having more time, gonna make a decision within a few months.

First thing I bought after my LEDs was a big wooden ruler for a few bucks to make sure I wasn't setting lower than 18 inches. Still use it.

So I've noticed that whenever I have plants under 4000k LED lights that they start looking really bad within a week, yellowing and looking like classic cal-mag problems. I'm using Lucas and even a little cal-mag so that shouldn't be a problem. Same plants will bounce back and start to green up almost within days under t5s or 3500k LEDs. I've noticed this same problem with 2 different bulbs that both happen to be 4k, once with t5 replacement led tubes and with high quality COB lights at 4000k.

Has anybody else noticed this? I have so many lights hanging around that I just swapped the lights out instead of really dealing with the problem but since I did buy some expensive 4000k LEDs I really should figure it out, also trying to lower my wattage hence why I bought the LEDs to begin with.

My answer is to stop using cal-mag at all, and add Epsom instead. It's just so odd that Lucas makes them look beautiful under anything but 4k.
What lights did you switch from and to?

I have 4k lights and my plants love them.... and the buds get frosty as hell... have you tried backing the lights away?
