Spider Farmer SF-1000D

Anyone know the difference between the SF-1000 and the SF-1000D? I emailed Spider Farmer support and all I was told is that the driver & LEDS on the SF-1000D were different. That and there is no dimmer which is fine.

Does the SF-1000D perform as well as the SF1000? Did they cheap out on the components to lower the price?

I might catch some flack for this.....

I just got a 110W LED. liking it so much I'm buying more.

Samsung LM301b chips & Meanwell driver for $138 CDN to my door, from all places,,,,, Walmart.

To me it looks comparable to the SF-1000W but without the Daisy-Chain connection.

Good luck
lol we buy what we can afford

I couldn't see any mention of LM301b's.

Check the new Viparspectra XS-1000. It’s even cheaper.
I couldn't see any xS-1000, only the P 1000. There was a XS-1500 however @ $200 Canadian. I remember looking at the XS and the Pro series awhile ago. Migrow had kind of a strange par test result on them showing the pro series out performing the XS..

they cheaped out and used lm301d which are quite a bit worse then 301b/h.
define quite a bit worse.

according to the specs on samsung site 301b is only 4% more luminous efficient than 301d (220lm/w vs 211lm/w). i could be alone on this, but 4% difference doesn't qualify as "quite a bit worse" on most things imo.

fwiw, sf1000 is about 55% more expensive than 1000d. if thats worth 4% peformance increase, meanwell driver, dimmer (on 100w light??), and daisy chain, its probably more personal preference than a great deal on cutting edge technology.

211 is quite a bit worse compared to 220lm/w for me, may not for you.
in real world it delivers about 81% of the light the "premium" version does, thats quite a bit worse.
its simply a cheaper led with worse specs, nothing else said.
buy it if you like it and the price is right for you.
otherwise there are many alternative offerings using better leds at a similar price then the sf1000d, posted here often on riu.
