What could this be?

The top new growth seems to be a little glossy and lighter green in color in comparison to other leaves. tips of new growth are slightly lime green. It’s worth noting that all of the node growth (bud sight branches) leaves are slightly lighter green than the fan leaves. Is this a sign of deficiency or anything else?

- Been watering with distilled Water. Has been in between 6.5 and6.8 according to my blue lab ph pen.
-Growing in FFOF about 60%, FFHF about 20% and 20%perlite.
-Haven’t given any nutes.. just CaliMagic the past 2 waterings at about .5ml per liter which is 1/2 the recommended dose.
-Temps 70-75 F, humidity about 45-50%
-3 gallon fabric pots, been in this soil for exactly 2 weeks now.

Don’t sweat it. Why cal mag now? Stop that. The nitrogen in it is likely the culprit.

Damnit Hotrod I love when you respond to my problems. Always some advice I can trust. I added it because I was using distilled water but I’ll pull off. Just realized happy frog has dolo lime so I won’t need it for awhile

FFOF and HF have ph buffers ... lose the distilled water. Use distilled with steam irons and press your pants. ...... think about it , what other plant “ needs “ distilled water. FFOF can run tap - unless you have Flint Michigan water. Most municipalities have calcium and mag in adequate numbers already in its tap.

Just PH it to match medium used . Ffof is around 6.3 out of bag - PH water to 6.5-6.7 ( allowing for drift ) and let her do her thing. Plants sometimes find FFOF a little hot upfront but they will acclimate - as long as you dont dump more nutes on top. Let host medium do the bulk of feed - alone.

Use 1/2 strength. Excess calcium is probably the main culprit in causing nutrient lockout. Because of how we use or misuse it.

Your mix is sound .... ratio of FFOF as bulk will add a “ heavy ammended “ portion and HF is good for early rooting and growth.

Many growers seem to forget that FFOF as a base is already charged for growth without ANY nutes. It can provide weeks of initial growth before signs if exhaustion - then you can either steep ffof ( in a cheesecloth bag ) for a soil drench / tea ( recommend aerating ) . Or use a good dry fertilizer scratched in top soil to “ recharge “ host medium. FFOF loses potassium near mid flower so plan to supplement... seabird guano works well for this issue. It can be steeped with tea or added with dry fertilizer.

I burned some plants the only time I got stuck buying Fox Farms. Pro Mix was new basically in 2011. They didn’t reorder so I grabbed a bag of OF.

I started feeding at about 4 weeks at 1/2 strength GH trio. Burned those puppies. After that it was water twice before feeding again. I personally wouldn’t use it again.
