Real CCELL brand carts have been the best cart for me to purchase. Hands down. They don’t clog as quick and the taste of the heated coil is more tolerable than the others

Damn, I read this whole thread and I might be MORE confused.
I really am wanting to give this a try. Everclear, VG/PG, CCells. Can one really make a decent product at home, or should I not waste my time & money?
I'm thinking decarb some high quality bud, do an alcohol extract with Everclear, remove as much alcohol as possible...add a little VG if needed to thin it a bit, maybe a touch of PG (shudders) and put it in a CCell.
Is that foolish thinking?? Thoughts?

The key to making the stuff at home without distillate is winterized product. The more fats you get out tge better it will tastes. I have never made one that tasted better than distillate. You CAN make some very high potency carts though.
A trick that I do is soak a whole piece o harvested plants In everclear. I tak that and make a whole plant vape carts.... it gives me a fire body buzz, tastes like shit but really nice stone...

My homemade golden honey oil (~10Gr) with approximately
30% of fats, lipids, chlorophyl, plant matter, waxes & other undesirables
REMOVED...leaving about as puree of a homemade oil u can get...(this bach about 70 Gr herb used, 8 Lbs Dryice, 30 Oz of generic Everclear & one plastic food cooler, 2 mason jars & a pull down temperature of
MINUS 60f after about 3 hrs.
Note
: dryice subliminates so place it above the Alcohol & herb jars on a screen fitted to the cooler closer to the jars better then mix both together in cooler for ~20 min (your preference, but purity is not off by much 15 vs 25 min.
just depends if your mixing with a suspending agent As already mentioned in other good posts or vaping NON mixed like I do using C cell cartridge with 4 oil intake holes of 2.0 mm or larger, the oil below has NO additives at all...)
I heat it up on my coffee maker warmer plate, & use plastic syringe to fill the C cell. Approximately 80 to 100 draws per .5 g C cell cartridge @ a 3.8 volt setting on my cheap vape pin, but sufficien.
So done right with about a 20% Thc herb u can expect about 4 Gr “pure oil“ per Oz.
This will fill .5 Gr C cells approximately 7.4 times, allowing for waste (IE: stuck in syringe or little glass jar walls etc.), roughly ~ 600 tokes...

Are you using a buchner funnel in the dry ice cooler to remove fats, etc.?
What method are you using to make your oil? And how are you cooking off the alcohol 100% ? I'd like to be able to do larger batches...It would be nice to make 50-100 carts at a time...

I don’t use a Büchner funnel
(there nice, but I’ve adapted diff. fast strain method).
After my sub-chilled -60f Ethanol soak, I strain 1st thru a “CLEAN“ 75u micron bubble bag (which is pre-chilled in freezer) right into a glass cooking bowl, it is Extremely Fast (size obviously depends on fluid qty !), I “very gently” shake
bubble bag 2-3x & “immediately“ remove away (DO NOT SQUEEZE IT),
you want ALL non cannabinoid bi products (Fatty acids, wax, chlorophyl, etc. to stay in the herb...)
***Next I strain thru a 25u micron “CLEAN“ bubble bag to get final gold wash product.
(I will not waste my time using Trim, only Flower). There may be some plant matter particles from the 75u strain, but not many & the 25u collects them & the liquid strains MUCH faster than using a brown non bleached coffee filter rated also @ 25u
(But they both work).
Once the gold liquid is strained the pressure is off.

It will C cell vape pure, but I do have some with a suspending agent in it Puffmajic or
Wax Liquidizer, both contain PG & PEG.
I mix @ ratios of 1:5
(1 part mix to 5 part Honey oil), obviously u can mix more, but potency decreases as well as flavor. I don’t mind using these occasionally because my Vape pin voltage is set @ 3.7V, vape temp. stays below the 430f carcinogenic phase of PEG.
Which is by all practical matters still very low VS ignition (flame) 900-1200f of dry herb...tar & carcinogenic exposure

So, Ethanol removal is time consuming, but it is foodgrade so very little impurities.
FDA allows 0.5 ppm
I use several techniques
(again NO open flame, NO children, NO friends around & NO NO smoking, etc this is work not play time)
Turn table top fan on to gently blow over double boiler as follows & open window, I heat a water bath in lg metal baking dish & turn flame off, place glass Pyrex dish in it with wash @ 155f or so & stir with Silicon stir spatula until only 2oz fluid left takes several hrs., then I transfer that to a clean glass small 2” Penzi spice jar...u may need to add a drop or two of Ethanol to get all the oily liquid transferred.(buy a set of Silicon stir spatulas diff size)
***Now the fun begins “Complete Ethanol Removal”
place the jar on a coffee plate warmer, coffee machine, etc to keep heated & stir with a toothpick until NO bubbles appear (process: stir walk away-stir walk away- again & again... until when u think your done 1–1 1/2 hrs later u still see little teeny micro bubbles these r the residual water...& it takes time to remove those 100%...I don’t like going over 155f, that’s why I use a coffee warmer
(recommend buying a thermostat controlled hot plate & infrared thermometer)
***Now with all that said I’ve recently used a friends large electric skillet about 12x16” or so & it works great...put on table in secured area outside aim fan Yes still use fan!!!
Adjust temperature & check with thermometer & repeat process above...I’ll just place the Pyrex dish with the wash in it right on top of the skillet
(Penzi spices r good, but u can buy those little 2”x2” jars online.) They are the right size to work with & to extract heated oil with plastic needless Syringe for cart filling...I use a chip bag clamp as a cart holder.
***Note— Can’t stress enough get all micro bubbles out & u really have to get right down to the jar to see them...!!!
Also, u can simply put the wash in a large glass Pyrex dish 12-17” type (I buy about everything from Goodwill or Walmart)
& place outside in the Sun in secure area & let it be, run out of daylight no problem just put it back out next day... the little bit of Sun exposure is not going to have any high impact on Thc degradation according to my research.
Well I’ve done all the evap processes above & all work, but I like the lg electric plate the best...using the fan & thermostat outside of home.

So I know this is a 2 year old thread.. but here I am lol I have a nugsmasher rosin press.. on their you tube video they talk about making carts from rosin using 1ml of terps to 1 gram of rosin. Is this going to work? Isn't this basically making them 50% terps? That seems like a lot to me? Any info on making my own carts out of pressed rosin would be great! Thanks!

Do people\companies still use a 50/50 blend with thicker "PEG400" to make the base for putting the oil in the carts? I still have a jug from when I was gonna make a bunch up like 5-6 years ago.. because as most should know, PG and VG don't work very well to keep the oil in suspension like the thicker PEG oil does. Never really liked the taste of that stuff though, or vaping cannabis oils all that much anyway no matter how they were made. I have tasted some good ones though, boosted with tropical flavors, etc. Now days, they just mix with straight liquid terps instead huh? Or is PEG400 still the main ingredient in most carts?

I think most are using MCT oil, although I think all are unhealthy. I quit making them. I could never truly pull the fats out enough to not clog the carts. But good luck I’ll be watching the thread for updates from you
