How much longer

This is my 2nd crop and trying to nail down the best time to harvest. I am planning to cut the light off for the last 72hrs but not sure exactly the best time to do so. Currently thinking I'll turn the lights off at about 20-25% amber trichs. Is that too late/early? How long would you say based on the pictures?

No, unfortunately it's something you get a feel for after observing many harvests and trimming countless plants. Ripe plants look "ripe." Lots of times you'll see an obviously unripe plant with tons of amber trichomes-that that case, I ignore the trichomes and just go by the "look" of the plant. When a breeder says 8-10 weeks, I've never seen one finish earlier than 11 weeks. I've seen TONS of people cut unripe plants at 8-10 weeks and it brings a tiny tear to my eye each and every time.

3 signs to look for:

85% of pistills have gone brown and shrivelled.
10-15% amber trichs (unless you want more or less)
Callyxes are all swollen.

If I have 2 out of 3 signs, I pick them.

As a rookie you should be extremely proud, the plants look fantastic.

When ready, all or almost all of the pistils should have turned brown/orange and will retract towards the calyx. The calyx themselves will also have swelled.

As an example, I just pulled these two down in the last week.


You can see the pistils browned and not sticking out anymore. In addition the calyx where they come out of are swollen like little marbles.

Give it the time and you're going to be extremely happy with your results. Well done!

Those are good examples and I see what you mean now. Look tasty too haha
I'll be patient and give them their time. These were all from seed and I changed a couple things this time so I'm excited they are doing so well.
