I’ve been growing small indoor grows on and off for 25 years. The grows were always basic and cheap. I stopped my last grow four years ago and I’m ready to dive in again. I thought I’d share my newest experience and listen to some advice.
The new grow, as per the title, is an autoflower Super Silver Haze. I’m going to make this grow as cheap as possible. I picked up the seeds online from Crop King Seeds. I picked up five seeds with shipping for $100. I went with the least expensive five gallon pot I could find. Which was a $3 five gallon yellow bucket. Drilled some holes in the bucket and done. Went with the fan boy Fox Farm Ocean Forest soil. I didn’t add a thing to the soil and filled up the bucket.
It was late February in Las Vegas and was ready to pop the seeds. The temperatures outside in mid March are low 70’s but the nights are high 40’s low 50’s. In May you can start seeing 100’s and 90’s for sure. So, this is why I chose an Autoflower this time. The short grow will keep this girl from baking in the summer. Then I can do another grow late August. I followed the Crop King Seed directions for germination exactly. I made a setup in my garage with an old 300 watt equivalent CFL and a sun reflector from a car. She sprouted and seedling stage was the week of the 14th. I started counting week one on the 21st of February. There she sat in my garage with 24 hours of light until March 17th when the temperatures outside were better for growing outdoors. This girl only got R/O water with CAL/MAG until week 4 (March 24th). About five years ago I purchased many of the Fox Farm nutrients. Left over from that purchase is three soluble Fox Farm nutrients. The well known Open Sesame, Beastie Blooms, and Cha Ching. So, as per the FF feeding schedule I’ve been give 1/4 teaspoon per gallon and cal mag. Also, should mention I stopped issuing R/O water when I transferred outdoors.
I have to say the plant is loving the Vegas sun and is doing great and is very healthy. No problems with bugs or deficiencies. I’m currently in mid week 8. The purps came out because of the cold temps at night I guess.
I’ve added a few pics. First picture is of week 3. Then week 4, week 5, week 6, week 7 close up, week 7, week 8
I’m looking for your comments, your constructive criticism, and your comedic banter. Remember this is a ultra cheap grow. So no more money will be spent.
