Need help identifying the problem

So a little about my grow. I was determined to complete this grow without any sort of ventilation because the noise makes it hard for me to sleep. It was an experiment which I believe may have failed.

I transplanted healthy looking seedlings into three gallon fabric pots 8 days ago. The were doing very well you until two days ago. I began to see rust spots on one of my plants and fed it cal mag assuming it was calcium deficient.

By yesterday the leaves towards the bottom had become splotchy and purple and we're twisted and curled upwards. I noticed tiny black bugs around my pots which I think are fungus gnats.

I now think that might be the cause however the leaves look different then pictures I see online when I google fungal gnats symptoms.

The leaves are crispy and dry and smell like dried cannabis when I open the tent. I wonder if it's possible these symptoms might be from heat stress or possibly a combination of that and gnats.

I've attached some pics. Any feedback would be much appreciated.

Complicated answer: I would need details/data.

So many details to get and dont want to sound like I am insulting you.

Is that dirt from outside?

Temp readings through day?

Humidity readings through day?

I am going to Guess heat plus high humidity could be the start of problems. Big guess.

Size of area, type of climate ( lets me know if your home could be bringing you bugs with the flaps open). The area you live will also tell me the types of bugs possible. That said the soil source would matter as well. Maybe that is peat that sat around for years in a parking lot. It happens.

Hi thanks so much for the reply. I am using recycled fox farm ocean forest ( meaning I used the same soil for a previous grow) l.

My temps inside my tent are around 80 and my humidity is also around 80. I realize these are high but with know ventilation that is what they are.

I do see little black bugs flying around the soil which I believe are fungus gnats. The soil is taking 5-7 days to dry out. I probably should not have watered to runoff this early in veg. I'm still learning it's only my second grow.

a pic of the bugs is very helpful. If you are able get a cheap Microscope clip on for your phone. a 60-100 times would be best. that will let you send pics of the bugs.

I think you are on the right track. Yes definitly could be gnats. It would be wise to treat for bugs. I suggest looking up Gnat options and decide what works best for you.

Everyone learns from experience. Even a slow house fan will help with the humidity and temp. Humidity seems high. Hydrogen peroxide 3% is a great friend when dealing with this. Mist plant and soil.

Just my quick opinion after a minute looking. You have obvios root issues. Fungus gnats. Too much water. You have another pest in the foliage as indicated by the erratic white dot mottling. Nute issues are the result. I strongly suggest a fan that sways your plants in all grows. Get one. But will not solve your issue or future ones without eliminating the pest.

Just my thoughts. Wish they were happier on Friday.

What type of pest damage does that look like ya think? Just gnats or something else too?

The gnats feed on the roots and fungus the excess moisture produces. You have another issue under the leaves. Or so I think. Start looking. Wrong or not here. Plant needs TLC.

I'd say this is your issue. The soil is probably imbalanced. The fungus gnats are probably due to overwatering, probably partly due to the plant's uptake being jammed. Respect to the pot elevators.
