What's more important EC or PPM?

So what do I double the uS/mS reading on the pen and thats my PPM? I get what yall are saying I'm just trying to understand how to read my equipment. Why is it reading 400PPM then when I need it 800?

I'm still not getting why PPM says 400... so what is my EC?

Nobody is explaining this in a way that makes sense based off my readings...?

According to the chart @ 400PPM I'd be at .8 EC so I'm at .8 EC right now? If its at say 1200 im at 1.2EC?

So if I need 1 EC that would be 500-700PPM on my pen?

To get 800ppm you need the correct amount of nutes, which can include the ppm of yer water, which should be deducted

So you have half what you need at 400ppm if yer trying for 800ppm

Your meter reads out EC in units of microsiemens per centimeter. The previously posted chart is millisiemens per centimeter. Divide your EC value by 1000 to see where it falls in the EC column on the previously posted chart.

Then see how your ppm readout compares to see if your instrument agrees with a column on the chart. It looks to me like yours agrees with the Hanna column.

Yes I get that, this water was tested WITH nutes... I thought to get EC you do uS/mS reading x 2 and devide by 1000 which on my pen says 1.6EC and 400PPM, unless the maths wrong?

FINALLY THANK YOU SOMEONE WITH THE RIGHT ANSWER I NEEDED!

I thought you had to take the uS/mS reading and times it by 2 and divide by 1000, so I just take that uS/mS number and divide by 1000 using the Hanna chart and that will be my PPM ok makes sense, I was trying to figure out if I had a faulty Pen.

Not enough apparently. Too much info on the web I was told to take uS/mS x 2 and divide by 1000. Which is why I was confused, thought my pen was wack.

369 ppm = .782 EC. It's reading right although doesn't show the decimal place when on the EC scale. Probably where a lot of the confusion is coming from. Cheaper meter no decimal place.
