Flowering light spectrum

Starting week 4 Flower, I have my light (Viparspectra Par600t) 70% blue 90% red they recommend 100/100 for flowering.. What u guys think? I kinda don’t wanna blast it with blue because Viparspectra are already high on the blue spectrum.

The plant looks good. Is it in a 2 x 2 tent?
As you are 4 weeks into flowering the plant should be able to take max light.
Dunno how far away your light is from the plant but I'd turn it on full blast at around 18" - 20" away
Ì can't find the spectrum of the light but I'd think it is blue heavy.

Those type of burple lights are yesterday's news and are really inefficient compared with their newer white light versions.
It is 272 watts therefore it'll cover 2ft x 2ft area for flowering. The light will be very intense directly under the fixture but light at the edges will be weak.

Website says Note: Please turn on 100% brightness of both VEG and BLOOM channels for flowering stage.

As a user of those Viparspectra's, I agree with whoever they are ... 100% for both VEG and BLOOM.

Actually, you should use 100% for both VEG and BLOOM at all times.

Hope everything is good with you man. If you don't know him, I would go look into Bruce Bugsby (Apogee Instruments). He's a horticulturist who does a lot of research for NASA's space growth programs. Most of the stuff you find on youtube and forums with regards to spectrum is a lot of stoner knowledge and marketing from Chinese light companies.

The major difference between red and blue light is blue's stretch while red's keep the plants shorter. Red's are also more efficiently absorbed by the plant.

Overall, I would recommend a full spectrum. Bruce has done multiple experiments with cannabis plants under different spectrums and testing their outcomes - terp content, cannabinoid content, photosynthesis, etc. - and says that it does make a difference but it's almost not noticeable. His grows are also far more dialed in than anything we can produce at home so us worrying about the spectrum is really wasting focus IMO.

Just give your plants some strong light and they will do well no matter the spectrum. I recommend full-spectrum because it makes it easier to diagnose issues and it makes you smile when you look at them every morning basking in that beautiful light.

The OP inquired about Viparspectra lights. The Viparspectra DS600 allowed me to check dimming the red during VEG and the blue during BLOOM. The best results came with both VEG and BLOOM up full. I think in this case actual stoner knowledge might be more advantageous.

But that's just me ...
